How to set up the Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed’s Perfect 180 turn button

By VGSources Team 9 min read

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

On the Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed, set up the 180-degree turn by opening Razer Synapse and mapping Razer’s Perfect 180 feature to a control you can press. Razer describes Perfect 180 as an instant 180-degree turn intended for low-sensitivity gaming. The official product FAQ says: “Simply map the feature to any control in Razer Synapse.”

This guide keeps the model and feature name explicit because the cited Razer page documents the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed specifically; it does not establish that every Basilisk V4 variant has identical support. Razer also does not publish a verified menu-by-menu click sequence on that page, so the instructions below explain the confirmed action without inventing screen labels.

What Perfect 180 does

Perfect 180 is Razer’s name for the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed feature that performs an instant 180-degree turn. It is aimed at players who use low sensitivity and need to reverse direction quickly. The “180” describes the turn performed by the feature, not a test result, speed benchmark, or guarantee of a particular in-game outcome.

The setup is a software mapping rather than a separate mechanical switch installation. You choose a mouse control, assign Perfect 180 to it in Razer Synapse, and then use that control in the game where you want the turn available.

Check that this guide matches your mouse

The source for this procedure is Razer’s official Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed product page and FAQ, accessed October 13, 2026. The page establishes Perfect 180 and its Synapse mapping method for that model. It does not prove that other Basilisk V4 editions, regional variants, or differently named products expose the same control.

  • Model: Confirm that the device is identified as “Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed,” not merely a mouse with a similar name.
  • Software: Razer Synapse is the application Razer identifies for button mappings and other mouse settings.
  • Feature name: Look for “Perfect 180,” Razer’s own terminology for the 180-degree-turn function.
  • Connection: Have the mouse connected before opening Synapse so the application can identify the device.

These checks prevent a common mistake: trying to follow a Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed instruction on a different model and assuming that a missing option is a setup failure.

What you need before mapping the button

The correct mouse

Use the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed covered by Razer’s page. If Synapse presents a different product name, do not assume that the Perfect 180 option should appear; the cited documentation does not extend the feature claim to every Basilisk product.

Razer Synapse

Razer identifies Synapse as the software used for button mappings and other settings. Open Synapse with the mouse connected. The product FAQ does not state a specific Synapse version, operating-system requirement, or exact panel name, so this article does not assign one.

A control you can reach reliably

Choose the physical control you want to press for the turn. The FAQ says the feature can be mapped to “any control” in Synapse. In practice, select a control that you can activate without losing aim or accidentally pressing during ordinary movement. The best choice depends on your hand position and the game; Razer’s cited page does not prescribe a particular button.

How to map Perfect 180 in Razer Synapse

  1. Connect the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. Make sure the mouse is attached and available to the computer before launching or switching to it in Synapse.
  2. Open Razer Synapse. Use the application Razer designates for mouse button mappings and settings.
  3. Open the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed’s control-mapping settings. Select the device and the area where Synapse lets you change button assignments. Razer’s FAQ confirms the mapping action but does not publish exact screen names or click counts.
  4. Select the control to customize. Choose the button or other mouse control you intend to press for a 180-degree turn.
  5. Assign “Perfect 180.” In the available function list, choose Perfect 180, using that exact Razer feature name so it can be distinguished from ordinary sensitivity or macro options.
  6. Apply the assignment. If Synapse displays an Apply, Save, or equivalent confirmation, complete it. The official FAQ does not specify whether every Synapse release uses the same confirmation wording.
  7. Try the mapped control in the intended game. Test the selected control in the game and situation where you need the instant turn. Razer documents the mapping, but not game-specific behavior or a universal compatibility guarantee.

The only Razer-documented setup requirement in the cited material is assigning Perfect 180 to a control in Synapse. The surrounding steps are practical guidance for carrying out that assignment, not a claim that Razer uses these exact labels in every software release.

Choosing the control for real play

Use a control you can press without changing grip

Perfect 180 is intended to be available instantly. A control that requires you to move your hand, release movement input, or search by touch may be less useful than one you can reach naturally. There is no Razer-specified “correct” button, so base the choice on your grip and the game’s control layout.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Separate the turn from ordinary clicks

If you regularly press a control for another action, assigning Perfect 180 may change that action’s behavior. Pick a control whose current role you can replace or whose use is unlikely to conflict with the turn. The FAQ establishes that the feature is mapped to a control; it does not describe automatic dual-function behavior.

Consider accidental presses

An instant reversal can be disruptive if triggered unintentionally. Before using the mapping in a competitive match, test whether your chosen control is easy to hit while moving, aiming, or adjusting your grip. If accidental activations occur, return to Synapse and map Perfect 180 to a different available control.

Testing the assignment

Test outside a high-stakes match first

Use a low-pressure practice area, training mode, or another situation where an unexpected turn will not cost progress. This is a sensible validation step, not a Razer-published requirement. The purpose is to confirm that the selected control and the intended game produce the result you want.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

Check the direction and timing

Face a known direction, press the mapped control once, and observe whether the game turns through the expected 180 degrees. Repeat from another facing direction. Because Razer’s page does not specify game engines, camera modes, sensitivity values, or timing behavior, treat the result in your particular game as the relevant test rather than assuming every title will respond identically.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Watch for conflicts

Confirm that the control is not also performing an unwanted action in the game. If it is, adjust the game’s own binding or choose another mouse control in Synapse. Neither the product page nor the FAQ supplies a universal conflict-resolution procedure, so the available controls and game settings determine the exact fix.

If Perfect 180 is not visible

Verify the model name

First check that Synapse recognizes the device as the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. The official source documents this model, not every product carrying the Basilisk V4 name. A different model may not expose the same feature, and the cited material does not establish cross-model support.

Confirm that you are editing the mouse mapping

Perfect 180 belongs in the Basilisk’s control-mapping area. If you are viewing another device or a different settings category, switch to the mouse and its controls. Razer’s FAQ identifies Synapse as the place for button mappings, but it does not provide a detailed navigation path.

Check recognition before changing unrelated settings

Reconnect the mouse and reopen or reselect it in Synapse if the device is not shown. Avoid inferring that a firmware update, macro, sensitivity adjustment, or game profile is required: none of those requirements is stated in the cited Razer documentation.

Do not substitute a generic 180-degree macro

Perfect 180 is Razer’s named feature. A user-created macro or sensitivity shortcut is not established by the source as an equivalent, and substituting one may produce different behavior. Use the named Perfect 180 entry when it is available.

If the mapping saves but the game does not turn as expected

Retest the control in a controlled situation

Press the control once while facing a clear reference point. This helps distinguish an input problem from a camera, movement, or game-state issue. The Razer page does not guarantee that every game will interpret Perfect 180 in the same way.

Check the game’s own bindings

Look for a conflicting assignment on the same mouse control. If the game intercepts the button for another action, resolve that conflict in the game’s controls or remap Perfect 180 to another available control in Synapse.

Test with the intended sensitivity and play mode

Razer describes Perfect 180 as a feature for low-sensitivity gaming. If your game uses different sensitivity profiles, camera modes, or special movement states, test in the mode in which you intend to use the turn. The source does not state a required sensitivity number or list supported games, so no universal threshold can be supplied.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Record what is actually happening

Note the mouse model shown in Synapse, the control you selected, and the game mode in which you tested. Those details are useful if you need to consult Razer support or the game’s support channel. Do not assume that a failure in one title proves the feature is unavailable everywhere; the cited page makes no game-by-game claim.

What Razer’s documentation does—and does not—promise

Question Established by the official page Not established there
What is the feature called? Perfect 180 Alternative names used by other Basilisk models
What does it do? Provides an instant 180-degree turn, described for low-sensitivity gaming A measured response time, accuracy percentage, or performance benchmark
Where is it configured? Razer Synapse A fixed version number, operating-system requirement, or exact menu path
How is it assigned? Map it to a control; Razer says it can be mapped to any control A required physical button, button combination, or profile arrangement
Will it work identically in every game? No universal guarantee is stated A game list, engine list, camera-mode list, or troubleshooting matrix
Does every Basilisk V4 support it? The evidence covers the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed Identical support across all Basilisk V4 variants

This distinction matters when diagnosing a missing option or inconsistent result. The mapping instruction is clear, while the surrounding software and game behavior remain dependent on the specific product, Synapse release, and title.

Resetting or changing the assignment

To change the button, return to the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed’s control-mapping settings in Synapse, select the currently assigned control, and choose a different control or function. If Synapse presents a Save or Apply confirmation, accept it. To move Perfect 180 elsewhere, assign it to the new control and test that control before relying on it in a match.

The cited FAQ does not describe a separate reset command, profile system, backup method, or factory-default procedure. If your Synapse installation presents such options, follow the labels shown for your installation rather than assuming that another release uses the same wording.

Best-practice checklist

  • Confirm the device is the Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed.
  • Open Razer Synapse with the mouse connected.
  • Use the mouse’s control-mapping settings.
  • Select the control you can reach consistently.
  • Assign the function named Perfect 180.
  • Apply or save the change when Synapse requests confirmation.
  • Test once in a low-pressure game situation.
  • Check for a conflicting in-game binding.
  • Retest from more than one facing direction.
  • If the feature is missing, avoid assuming that another Basilisk V4 variant supports it.

Why the model qualifier matters

“Basilisk V4” is not sufficiently precise for this procedure. Razer’s cited documentation names the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. Keeping “HyperSpeed” in the device name helps you compare what Synapse shows with the product page that documents Perfect 180. A similar-looking mouse or another regional listing may have different controls or software support; the available source does not resolve those differences.

Bottom line for setup

Connect the Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed, open Razer Synapse, select the mouse’s control-mapping settings, and assign Perfect 180 to the control you want to press. Save or apply the mapping if prompted, then test it in the game you plan to play. Razer confirms that mapping action, but does not publish a fixed click-by-click path, game compatibility list, or guarantee that all Basilisk V4 variants behave the same way.
