On the PS5 you want to share from, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play, then select Enable. Other users on that console can play games and media purchased and downloaded by your account, including when the console is offline. The feature is enabled automatically on the first PS5 you sign in to, and you can enable it on only one PS5 at a time.
How to enable game sharing on PS5
- Sign in on the PS5 with the PlayStation account that owns the games or media.
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable. If the screen offers Disable, sharing is already enabled on that console.
Sony says Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled by default on the first PS5 used to sign in with an account. For the current official instructions, see PlayStation Support: How to turn on PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play.
What other users can access
On the enabled PS5, other users can play games and use media purchased and downloaded by the account that enabled sharing. They can do so even when the console is offline. The content must belong to that enabling account; signing in on a different user profile does not transfer ownership.
PlayStation Plus benefits
Some PlayStation Plus benefits can be shared with other users on a PS5 where Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled. Not every benefit is shared: PlayStation Plus is tied to the subscriber’s account, and Sony identifies only selected benefits as shareable. Check Sony’s PlayStation Plus support page for the current benefit details.

How to switch sharing to another PS5
An account can have Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled on one PS5 at a time. To move it, disable sharing on the previously enabled console before enabling it on the new one. This PS5 limit does not change separate activation limits for other PlayStation console types.
- On the old PS5, sign in with the account currently sharing games.
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play and select Disable.
- On the new PS5, sign in with the same account, follow the same settings path, and select Enable.
If you cannot access the old console
Sony provides a remote deactivation option through Account Management. It deactivates all devices rather than only the unavailable PS5, and Sony limits remote deactivation to once every six months. Use it only when you cannot disable sharing directly on the previous console.
