For better reported shiny odds in Hyperspace Lumiose, use a level-three Sparkling Power donut whose type matches the Pokémon you want, and add the Shiny Charm if you have it. Then check whether a chosen movement or reset method actually changes the Pokémon in your Hyperspace layout before building a repeatable loop. These odds and reset behaviors come from independent guides, not official Pokémon mechanics documentation.
How to reach Hyperspace Lumiose
Mega Dimension is downloadable content for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Nintendo says mysterious distortions appear in Lumiose City and Hoopa turns them into portals leading to Hyperspace Lumiose. The Pokémon Company describes the area as a place where powerful Pokémon not found in regular Lumiose can be encountered. The full Pokémon Legends: Z-A game is required to use the DLC.

Nintendo also describes Ansha making donuts from berries, with the effects depending on which berries are used. That establishes the berry-and-donut system, but official pages retrieved do not publish shiny odds or confirm a shiny-rate formula.
What shiny odds do independent sources report?
PokeTools, a fan project whose data page is marked current for 2026, reports the following wild-spawn odds and roll counts. These are secondary-source figures, not official Nintendo or Pokémon Company rates.
#1 Best Overall
- Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
| Setup | Reported rolls | Reported odds |
|---|---|---|
| Base wild spawn | Not applicable | 1 in 4,096 |
| Shiny Charm | 4 | About 1 in 1,024 |
| Shiny Charm plus level-three Sparkling Power | 7 | About 1 in 585.6 |
PokeTools says Sparkling Power adds one to three shiny rolls for one Hyperspace portal, and that level-three power guarantees the first spawn matching the donut’s type. Treat that guarantee as the source’s claim about the first matching-type spawn; the listed probability concerns later matching encounters. The figures do not establish that every Pokémon in every Hyperspace encounter is eligible to appear shiny.
How to make a matching-type Sparkling Power donut
- Choose the target first. Identify its type so you can match the donut’s Sparkling Power to the Pokémon you are hunting.
- Use berries with Ansha. The official description confirms donuts are made from berries and that berry choice changes their effects. PokeTools’ reported shiny benefit specifically concerns Sparkling Power, but official pages do not document its formula.
- Aim for level three. PokeTools reports that level-three Sparkling Power guarantees the first spawn of the matching type in one Hyperspace portal. Its stated benefit is type-specific; do not assume it boosts unrelated types.
- Add the Shiny Charm if available. The PokeTools odds table reports the strongest listed setup as the charm combined with level-three Sparkling Power.
Because exact shiny effects and roll counts are not confirmed in the official material cited here, regard the numbers as a guide to a community-reported mechanic rather than a guaranteed rate from the game publisher.

How to check spawns and test a repeatable loop
A HowToPlayHub guide marked updated September 2026 reports that fast-traveling out of and back into a Wild Zone regenerates its wild Pokémon, and that resting on a bench inside a Wild Zone can do the same. A separate NintendoEverything guide from December 22, 2025 discusses Mega Dimension shiny hunting with berries and donuts. These reports are useful starting points, but they do not prove that the same reset works in every Hyperspace layout.
- Record the group you want to check. Note visible details such as species, gender, or level so you can tell whether the spawns changed.
- Try one method in your current layout. Test movement, fast travel, or a bench rest only where the game permits it.
- Check the group again. Confirm that the Pokémon actually changed. If the same group remains, that method has not produced a fresh set of checks in that layout.
- Repeat only after confirming regeneration. A reset does not improve the odds of an individual encounter; it is useful only if it produces new spawns to inspect.
What is not established about shiny eligibility
The available sources do not provide a verified, species-by-species list of shiny-eligible or shiny-locked Hyperspace encounters. Do not assume that a rule for ordinary wild spawns also applies to a special scan, legendary, or story encounter. Confirm eligibility for the specific encounter with an encounter-specific source before investing in a long hunt.
