For a podcast episode title, guest name, or other prepared information, add both languages to an OBS Text Source and place it over your video. Use an OBS Browser Source instead if you need a designed or remotely updated layout. These are on-video overlays: all viewers see them, and YouTube’s CC control cannot hide them. If you mean live captions for spoken Hindi and English, that is a separate caption-delivery workflow—not an overlay.

Add prepared Hindi and English text in OBS
- Write and check the text. Prepare a concise Hindi line and its English counterpart. Confirm Hindi spelling and punctuation against an approved source, and show only the episode information viewers need at that moment.
- Add a Text Source. In OBS, use the Sources dock to add a Text Source. Enter the bilingual text in the source field, or choose its read-from-file option if you will maintain the text in a file. OBS documents font, color, alignment, outline, opacity, and wrapping options. The exact controls vary between the Windows GDI+ and macOS/Linux FreeType 2 implementations. OBS Text Sources
- Choose a Browser Source for a designed card. If you prefer a richer layout or a page that can be updated remotely, add a Browser Source and supply its URL or local file. Set its viewport width and height to suit the layout. OBS describes it as a web page loaded into the scene; its default CSS gives the page a transparent background. OBS Browser Source
- Layer and position the text. In the Sources list, put the text or browser source above the camera or video layer. In the preview, position and resize it so it does not cover faces or other important picture content. Sources higher in the list appear above lower sources. OBS sources and scene layout
- Test at the actual stream size. Preview or record a short sample. Check Devanagari shaping, font rendering, contrast, line breaks, and overlap. OBS documents font selection and styling, but does not guarantee that every installed font and operating system will shape Devanagari correctly; verify it on the machine you will stream from. - Start the broadcast with the right expectation. A visible bilingual overlay is for prepared episode information. It is not closed captions, and viewers cannot switch it off with YouTube’s CC control.
Send live speech captions as a separate track
If your goal is accessibility captions for what hosts are saying, use YouTube’s supported live-caption workflow rather than burning text into the picture. YouTube documents embedded 608/708 captions and delivery from supported software over HTTP POST. Its help page says: “The captions can either be embedded in the video or sent through supported software that can send captions over HTTP POSTs.” The same page notes that, although 608/708 supports up to four language tracks, YouTube currently supports one caption track. YouTube’s built-in live automatic captions are documented as English-only. Do not promise that turning on that route will produce Hindi captions. YouTube also notes rollout and normal-latency conditions, and says multiple languages or overlapping speakers can cause problems for automatic captions. YouTube automatic captions
