To remotely end PlayStation sessions, sign in to Account Management in a browser and choose Security > Sign Out on All Devices. To clear console activations you do not recognize, go to Device Management > PlayStation Consoles > Deactivate All Devices. These are separate actions: changing your password is Sony’s recommended way to sign out from consoles you cannot access, while remote deactivation clears activations on every console linked to the account.
Sign out of PlayStation on all devices remotely
- Open PlayStation Account Management in a web browser and sign in.
- Choose Security in the sidebar.
- Scroll to Sign Out on All Devices and select it.
Sony’s Canada support instructions describe this as the remote route for ending sessions when you cannot use a console. Security-setting changes made online are saved to the account and apply across devices and consoles, according to PlayStation’s security guidance.
Change your password to sign out from inaccessible consoles
If a console is lost, sold, or otherwise out of reach, change the account password as well. In Account Management, open Security, edit Password, and follow the prompts. Sony’s deactivation guide says, “To sign out from inaccessible consoles, change your password.” A password change is not the same as deactivating a console: it addresses sign-in access, while deactivation removes the console’s activation association.
Remove an unknown console activation
- Sign in to PlayStation Account Management in a browser.
- Open Device Management > PlayStation Consoles.
- Select Deactivate All Devices and confirm.
This remote control clears activations for all consoles attached to the account, not just the unknown one. Sony says an inaccessible console cannot be deactivated individually online. Its English India support page states that remote deactivation is available once every six months. Because the action affects consoles you may still own and use, check the account and consider the impact before confirming.

Activation limits Sony lists
Sony’s cited PlayStation India page lists these account activation limits. They describe activated systems, not the number of devices on which you can sign in.

The same page says a PS5 and PS4 may both be active at the same time. These limits and the six-month remote-deactivation rule are from Sony’s English India support guidance; localized instructions or policies may differ or change.

If the console is with you, sign out locally
- PS5: Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Sign Out.
- PS4: Settings > Account Management > Sign Out.
Sony also recommends signing out after using a shared console and keeping account credentials private.
If you suspect theft or account compromise
Take account-protection steps promptly. Sony’s US compromised-account guidance recommends signing out all devices and deactivating consoles; it also advises considering removal of all payment methods to reduce the risk of unwanted purchases. If you cannot change the sign-in method or regain secure access, contact PlayStation Support.

- Use Sign Out on All Devices to end active sessions.
- Deactivate all consoles if an unknown activation needs to be cleared and you accept the all-console scope.
- Consider removing saved payment methods if a console was stolen.
