Stealth in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a sequence, not a magic outfit: watch the target and patrols, compare your Noise, Visibility and Conspicuousness totals, approach from cover, act only when the prompt appears, and plan how to leave. Low stats help, but they do not make Henry invisible to someone who can see him.
What affects stealth?
The inventory’s three stealth signals are useful comparisons, not guarantees. Noise relates to sounds from movement and equipment; Visibility reflects how readily Henry can be seen in his position and the available light; Conspicuousness reflects how much his appearance stands out. Direct sight, nearby witnesses, bright conditions and a target’s alert state can still expose him even when the displayed values are low. Gamepressure’s stealth guide and Method’s guide both emphasize that stealth involves more than sound.

- Noise: Consider whether movement or an interaction could be heard.
- Visibility: Check whether Henry is exposed or lit in a patrol’s sightline.
- Conspicuousness: Avoid clothing that makes him stand out when concealment matters.
- The situation: Account for patrols, witnesses, nearby doors, the target’s alertness and the route out.
Crouching helps with a quiet approach, but crouching in front of someone does not hide Henry from their view.
How to carry out a stealth approach
- Observe before moving in. Watch the target and nearby patrols long enough to identify gaps in their routes, possible witnesses and a clear exit.
- Choose clothing for the situation. Change noisy or visually striking layers if practical, then check the complete outfit’s three displayed values in the inventory. An item’s reputation or color alone does not tell you how the full set performs.
- Approach under cover. Crouch and stay outside direct view. Avoid sprinting through exposed or brightly lit areas, and do not close in on a target who is already suspicious.
- Wait for the interaction prompt. Move behind an unaware target and use the on-screen prompt when it appears. If it is absent, reposition and check your distance, the target’s awareness and the requirements for the action.
- Choose the action that fits the goal. A knockout is non-lethal at the time; a lethal stealth takedown requires an equipped dagger. Neither action prevents a witness from raising an alarm or someone from finding the body.
- Leave with care. Take a route that avoids patrols and witnesses, and consider whether anyone could discover the body or hear what happened.
How to choose gear, skills and perks
Compare the whole outfit
Treat stealth gear as a situational loadout rather than searching for one universally best item. Heavy protection can add noise, while striking layers can work against concealment. Condition, other equipment and perks also affect the result, so change the pieces that make sense for the encounter and recheck the inventory totals. Method’s guide suggests bland clothing and quieter cloth or padded armor over shiny armor or colorful clothing, but those are practical suggestions, not guarantees for every build.

Build Stealth through stealth activity
Stealth improves through actions the game recognizes, such as moving near enemies undetected, appropriate lockpicking or pickpocketing, and quietly disposing of enemies. Deep Silver’s official patch notes for patch 1.2 say XP gain was rebalanced for several skills, including Stealth, so older progression advice may not match every installed version.
Match perks to the route
The current guide distinguishes Rodent for indoor sneaking from Weasel Boy as the mutually exclusive outdoor alternative. Choose according to where you tend to sneak, and check the in-game descriptions and availability for your build. Deep Silver’s patch 1.5 notes also say the Natural Camouflage perk’s effect on player visibility was fixed. Those notes do not establish the latest game build, so check your installed version before relying on precise patch-specific advice.

Knockout or lethal takedown?
Choose based on the objective, the people nearby and what happens after the action—not just the animation.

If you are considering a crime or an irreversible choice, saving beforehand and isolating the target can reduce the risk of an unwanted outcome.

Why stealth fails and what to check

These are diagnostic checks rather than guaranteed formulas for every encounter; the precise cause can depend on the situation.
