To solo the Overload! quest in Grounded 2, complete Wait, There’s More!, deactivate all four O.R.C. transmitters in the starting area, then defend the Grass Games Area MIX.R until its Overdrive bar fills. Build defenses before activating it, keep attackers away from the device, and use an Omni-Wrench to repair it if the event fails.

Unlock the Overload! objective

  1. Complete Wait, There’s More!.
  2. Deactivate all four O.R.C. transmitters in the starting area.
  3. Check the map for the MIX.R marker. The Overload! quest target is the device in the Grass Games Area, not a later MIX.R location. See the Overload! quest page for the objective details.

Prepare to defend the MIX.R alone

Before activating the device, build a defensive perimeter around it and bring weapons suited to the creatures you expect to encounter. A basic wall defense is a useful starting point, but it is not a guaranteed build: the right setup depends on your difficulty, character progression, available materials, and the routes attackers can take.

Prioritize coverage and response

  • Use the materials you have for walls that can protect the device from incoming damage.
  • Plan to cover the MIX.R while still being able to reach attackers approaching from different directions.
  • Choose weapons based on the threats you meet rather than relying on one universal loadout.
  • Be ready to deal quickly with enemies attacking the device or your defenses.

The available general MIX.R guidance supports wall defenses and quick threat response, but it does not establish a verified wave-by-wave solo plan or a difficulty-specific build for this exact quest. The MIX.R overview provides general event guidance.

Activate it and keep the device alive

  1. When the perimeter is ready, activate the MIX.R.
  2. Watch both the Overdrive progress bar and the MIX.R’s health bar. Creatures attack after activation; your goal is to keep the device intact until Overdrive completes.
  3. Move to intercept threats that are damaging the MIX.R or breaching your defenses. The event succeeds when Overdrive finishes; if the device is destroyed first, the event fails.

The Grounded Wiki describes a successful event as taking approximately four minutes. Treat that as an estimate, not a guaranteed timer for every attempt.

Repair and retry after a failed attempt

If the MIX.R is destroyed, repair the damaged device with an Omni-Wrench, then activate it again. Adjust the perimeter or your approach before retrying if attackers reached the device too quickly.

If the quest will not start or progress

First re-check the in-game checklist to confirm the prerequisites, including all four transmitters, and verify that the installed game version is current. Obsidian’s Hairy and Scary Update notes document fixes for a MIX.R activation issue after a client completed antennas and stashes, as well as O.R.C. creatures persisting after a failed MIX.R. Those are documented past fixes, not proof of a current general bug. A player support thread also reports a device still recognizing transmitters as active after the player said they had completed them; that anecdote does not establish that the issue is widespread or still present.
