To open Keo Ruug Shrine’s main gate, place the four orbs in the holes marked by 5, 3, 1, 2, from left to right. Count how often each row’s constellation appears on the far wall, then put that row’s orb in the hole whose neighboring torches show the matching count. The optional chest uses a second mural: its left-to-right sequence is 4, 2, 2, 1.
Where to find Keo Ruug Shrine
Keo Ruug Shrine is in Korok Forest, near the Master Sword and the Great Deku Tree. Inside, the shrine’s hint reads: “Look to the stars for guidance. The constellations are the key.”
How the constellation puzzle works
Each row on the near wall shows a constellation pattern and has an orb. The far wall repeats those patterns. Along the floor, holes are marked by groups of adjacent torches, with the groups representing numbers one through five. Count how many times a row’s constellation appears on the far wall; that count tells you which numbered hole should hold that row’s orb.
- Look at the constellation in the first row and count its appearances on the far wall.
- Find the hole next to the torch group matching that count.
- Carry the row’s orb to that hole and place it there.
- Repeat for the remaining rows, keeping the row order from left to right.
Main gate solution
For the four rows, the matching constellation counts are 5, 3, 1, 2 from left to right. Place each row’s orb in the hole marked by the corresponding torch count to open the main gate.
