Spoiler warning: Room 8’s solution is Monkey–Hubris, Lion–Envy, Swan–Lust, Elephant–Wrath, Pigeon–Gluttony, Bear–Sloth, Rabbit–Avarice, and Dog–Mundanity. To reach the puzzle, solve the Gallery Puzzle for Key 8, then use it on a locked door at rank 8.
How to enter Room 8
- Solve the Gallery Puzzle to obtain Key 8.
- Reach rank 8 and look for a locked door. Use Key 8 to open it and enter Room 8. The mansion layout and door availability can mean it takes more than one attempt to find the entrance.
Room 8 solution: figure-to-bin placements
Place each animal figure in the bin bearing the corresponding sin:
| Bin | Figure |
|---|---|
| Hubris | Monkey |
| Envy | Lion |
| Lust | Swan |
| Wrath | Elephant |
| Gluttony | Pigeon |
| Sloth | Bear |
| Avarice | Rabbit |
| Mundanity | Dog |
How the figurine clues point to the solution
The inscriptions mix spelling clues, wordplay, animal associations, and references to the room’s layout. The clues are reproduced in GameSpot’s guide, published April 10, 2025.
- Monkey — Hubris: Its clue points to the bend of the tail of the skinned animal shown in the room.
- Lion — Envy: The lion says to start with a bin containing “n.” That narrows the options; the complete arrangement places it in Envy.
- Swan — Lust: The swan warns against a bin far from the fin drawing, pointing to Lust.
- Elephant — Wrath: Its clue refers to a neighboring sin written thin to fit. The layout and complete arrangement identify Wrath.
- Pigeon — Gluttony: The clue plays on “eight” sounding like “ate”; Gluttony also has eight letters, matching the letter-sum clue.
- Bear — Sloth: The bear’s reference to lounging in a den points to Sloth.
- Rabbit — Avarice: The rabbit clue refers to a repeated letter shared with a neighboring sin; Avarice and Mundanity provide the relevant doubled letters.
- Dog — Mundanity: The dog belongs in an end bin. With Hubris taken by the monkey, Mundanity is the remaining end bin.
What solving Room 8 rewards
The sources agree that solving the puzzle rewards the Infinity Trophy and allowance tokens, but they describe the token count differently. GameSpot describes an Allowance Token as permanently increasing starting gold by +2 and lists it separately from the trophy. Playnews says Room 8 grants two Allowance Tokens and the trophy; a Blue Prince Wiki search excerpt says two tokens are awarded on each completion if the puzzle is solved without ever collecting the trophy. The exact token outcome may depend on the condition or wording, so the sources do not establish one unconditional count.
