For many early accounts, a community guide recommends working toward VIP milestones; later, targeted hero growth or a live event may be a better fit. Use alliance currency, gathering, and other stores for items they can cover efficiently, and save speedups for meaningful upgrades and relevant event windows. The right purchase depends on your account, server, and current offers, so treat community priorities as guidance and confirm costs and rules in the game.
What should you spend diamonds on in Last War: Survival?
Diamonds are flexible premium currency. That flexibility is valuable: spending them on a small convenience now means giving up the option to use them for a more important goal later. There is no single shopping list that is best for every player. Your VIP level, progression phase, active squad, available stores, server calendar, and immediate bottleneck all affect whether a purchase is worthwhile.

A practical order of consideration is:
- Check for a durable account benefit. If you have not reached the VIP milestone that supports a useful persistent benefit, consider whether progressing toward it serves your account better than a one-time purchase.
- Identify the resource actually blocking your next meaningful goal. A bundle is only useful if it gets you closer to an upgrade you intend to make.
- Look for another way to obtain the item. Gathering, routine play, events, and non-diamond shops may cover it.
- Check whether the purchase advances your active squad or planned system. Avoid scattering scarce growth materials across heroes or systems you are not using.
- Check live timing and stock. An event, rotation, or limited offer can change the value of a purchase, but schedules and availability vary.
- Compare the benefit with what you give up. If the purchase is mostly convenience and does not solve a current problem, keeping the diamonds is a valid choice.
This framework reflects community advice about persistent VIP benefits, targeted hero development, event-timed speedups, farmable resources, and changing account bottlenecks. It is not an official game rule; verify current benefits, prices, and availability in your game. See the [Last War Vault gem-economy guide] and [Last War Guide’s core-systems guide].

Early progression: weigh VIP against one-time purchases
Last War Vault’s community guide, dated April 25, 2026, recommends putting early diamond spending toward VIP 6, which it describes as providing a second builder, then continuing toward VIP 8. The guide estimates roughly 150,000 cumulative VIP points for VIP 6 and about 500,000 for VIP 8. These are guide-reported estimates, not independently verified official requirements; check your current VIP screen for the points and benefits that apply to your account.

A persistent benefit can keep helping after the individual purchase is over, which is why the guide places VIP ahead of routine speedups and random summons for an early account. That does not make every VIP point purchase automatically worthwhile. Consider your current VIP level, the next benefit you would unlock, how far away it is, and whether your immediate goal would be better served by a different use of diamonds.
The same guide reports a free-to-play estimate of about 75 days at a baseline of 200 VIP points per day to reach VIP 6. That timeline does not reconcile with its separate estimate of about 150,000 cumulative points for VIP 6: 200 points per day would take about 750 days to accumulate 150,000 points. Do not use the 75-day figure as a planning guarantee; rely on the live game’s current requirements and your actual point sources.
After foundational VIP goals: buy toward a specific outcome
Once you have reached the VIP milestones that matter to you, diamonds may be more useful for targeted hero development. The gem-economy guide recommends considering summons when a relevant hero banner or guaranteed-pity window gives you a defined outcome. Before spending, confirm the banner’s current rules and ask whether the hero will be used in your main formation. A pull without a plan can consume diamonds without fixing the roster gap that matters to you.
Selected hero shards or exclusive-weapon shards can also be situational choices when they advance a hero or weapon you actually intend to use. Their value depends on the target, your current progress, and the offer’s terms. Do not assume that every shard offer is efficient just because it is limited or labeled as a deal.

Later progression: follow the bottleneck, not a copied build
As accounts advance, the resource that limits progress can shift from common materials to speedups, hero growth, or specialized systems. Seasons can also introduce additional materials and choices. Advice written for a particular season, server, or roster may not fit yours. Reassess what is preventing your next planned upgrade before spending diamonds, especially when a recommendation depends on a season-specific shop or item.
Diamonds, speedups, and event timing
Spending diamonds to remove a few minutes from an ordinary timer is usually a low-priority convenience, not a default progression strategy. Speedups are more valuable when they help complete a meaningful upgrade or contribute to an event reward you are actively pursuing. The core-systems guide advises against spreading speedups across small training jobs; the gem-economy guide treats diamond-bought speedups as conditional rather than routine.
Community examples of competitive situations where speedups may matter include Alliance Duel VS Day 5, Marshal’s Guard placement, and a Capitol Conquest push. These examples do not establish a fixed schedule or guarantee that spending will pay off. Event rules, scoring, and server calendars can change. Check the live event details before committing diamonds or consuming saved items.

- Save speedups when a substantial upgrade or relevant event is approaching and the item can contribute to that goal.
- Use them deliberately rather than shaving small amounts from low-impact timers one at a time.
- Buy them with diamonds only conditionally—for example, when a specific competitive or event goal makes the time worth the cost.
- Check the event’s scoring and your own ability to reach a reward before spending. A calendar date alone is not a reason to accelerate.
Do not copy another player’s weekly schedule without checking your own server. The useful principle is to match a planned upgrade and its consumables to the event that currently rewards them, if doing so serves your goal.
When to buy basic resources—and when not to
Food, iron, and coins support buildings, troops, and research. The core-systems guide describes these common resources as more likely to constrain early progress and less pressing later, although the exact bottleneck depends on the account. Production and map gathering can supply common materials over time, so buying them with diamonds may waste premium-currency flexibility when you could wait or gather instead.
A diamond-funded resource bundle can make sense when all three conditions hold: a specific upgrade is important now, a common resource is genuinely blocking it, and waiting for production, gathering, or another source would cost more than the diamonds are worth to you. Otherwise, save diamonds for an opportunity that is harder to obtain through ordinary play. Be cautious about applying advice tied to Season 6 or any other season to a different season or server.

What to buy with other currencies and materials
Alliance currency
The gem-economy guide’s community priority for the alliance shop starts with UR hero shards for heroes you use, then other targeted hero or weapon growth options, followed by skill medals. It places speedups below those choices and resource bundles last. Treat that order as a suggested priority, not a guaranteed live-shop ranking: inventory, stock, and rotation matter, and your roster may make a different item more useful.
A separate player-made alliance-store reference lists teleports, speedups, resources, and buffs as examples of items that may appear. It is not an authoritative statement of current inventory. Check your in-game alliance shop before planning around a particular item or stock limit. The community references are [Last War Vault’s gem-economy guide] and the [player-made alliance-store guide].
Gathered resources
Use production and map gathering for common materials when practical, particularly when those materials are not holding up a time-sensitive goal. Gathering has an opportunity cost in time and activity, so it is not automatically better than every shop purchase; compare what you need now with what you can earn through your normal play.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.

Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Hero shards
Universal shards can be used across eligible heroes, while named shards are restricted to the specified hero. The core-systems guide advises saving universal legendary shards, which retain flexibility, and notes that named shards apply to their named target. Check your inventory and the game’s current eligibility rules before using scarce shards. A shard is most valuable when it moves a hero you plan to field toward a relevant breakpoint, not merely because it is available.
Drone parts and specialized materials
Drone parts support a dedicated progression system rather than general-purpose growth. The core-systems guide says the Drone Center unlocks at HQ 15 and identifies drone upgrades as a use for drone parts. If your account has not unlocked the system, or the drone is not part of your current plan, buying these materials may not solve an immediate problem. Prioritize them when the system is available and the upgrade fits your account’s goals.
Which purchase is the better fit?
Use this comparison to classify an option before spending. It is a decision aid, not a universal ranking: current shop terms, your account, and the live event can change the answer.
| Option | When it may fit | Benefit type | Check before spending |
|---|---|---|---|
| VIP progress | Earlier account, when the next milestone offers a benefit you want | Potentially persistent; the VIP 6 and VIP 8 point estimates are community-guide figures, not verified official prices | Current VIP requirement, benefit, and distance to the milestone |
| Targeted summons | When a relevant banner or guaranteed-pity window supports a specific roster goal | Hero growth; outcome depends on the live banner rules | Banner terms, guaranteed outcome, and whether the hero fits your main formation |
| Hero or weapon shards | When they advance a hero or weapon you plan to use | Targeted growth; value depends on the target and current progress | Shard eligibility, shop stock, and whether the upgrade is a real bottleneck |
| Speedups | When a meaningful timer aligns with a relevant event or competitive goal | One-time time savings | Live event scoring, timer length, and whether saved speedups cover the need |
| Common resource bundles | When a real shortage blocks an important, time-sensitive upgrade | One-time materials | Whether gathering, production, or another store can supply them |
| Drone parts or other specialized materials | When the system is unlocked and relevant to your plan | System-specific progression | Unlock status, intended upgrade, and current availability |
A quick pre-purchase checklist
- What progression phase and VIP level is this account at?
- What exact goal will the purchase move forward?
- Is this item the actual bottleneck, or is another resource stopping the upgrade?
- Can gathering, daily play, an event, or another shop provide it?
- Does it support the active squad or a system you have unlocked?
- Are the event, banner, stock, and purchase limits current in your game?
- What future option are you giving up by spending diamonds now?
Common spending mistakes to avoid
- Buying convenience by habit: instant completion can feel satisfying, but repeated small accelerations spend diamonds without necessarily changing your progression.
- Summoning without a target: random pulls can use a flexible currency without strengthening the formation you rely on.
- Buying farmable materials without a deadline: if production or gathering can cover a common resource and nothing time-sensitive depends on it, diamonds may be better saved.
- Spreading scarce growth items too thinly: focus shards and other targeted materials on heroes or systems with a clear role in your plan.
- Assuming a community price list is current: player-made guides can help identify options, but live prices, stock, limits, and availability should be confirmed in-game.
- Following another server’s event calendar: check your own schedule and the event’s actual rules before saving or spending around a date.
How to adapt community advice to your account
Community guides are useful for identifying trade-offs, but they are not official pricing or universal instructions. The Last War Guide describes its site as unofficial and warns that figures may change with updates. Use advice as a starting point: inspect the item and rules in your live game, confirm the current cost and limit, and apply the recommendation only if it advances your own goal.
This matters especially for exact VIP estimates, event timing, seasonal materials, and shop inventory. Even if a community guide’s priority makes sense in general, an account with a different server age, season, roster, or unlock state can face a different best use for its diamonds. A good purchase is the one that addresses your current bottleneck at a cost you accept—not merely the one another player bought.
