The wisest FC Points purchase depends on your objective, not on a universal “best pack.” Use Points only after deciding whether you need a guaranteed type of progress, a chance at a squad upgrade, Draft access, or Premium Pass rewards. Then compare the live offer’s cost, reward rules, expiry and randomness in the Ultimate Team Store.
Before buying any pack, open Show Pack Probabilities. EA’s percentages are minimum chances of receiving at least one item in a displayed category or rating range; they are not the odds of pulling a particular named player. Every opening is independent, so spending more does not improve the probability of the next opening.

Start with the outcome you want
FC Points can be used in the Ultimate Team Store for packs and other items, to enter Drafts and for the Premium Pass. EA’s general support information also mentions Clubs Store use, but the choices below are focused on Ultimate Team. There is no published, permanent value ranking for these options: prices, inventory and probabilities change with content updates and in-game availability.

If your priority is filling a position before playing your next matches, a random pack is a poor substitute for a known reward. First inspect objectives, Squad Building Challenges and the current reward track for items you can earn without Points. If the Store contains a non-random item that directly addresses the position, compare its live cost with the number of matches or objectives required for the free route. The game may not always offer such an item, so do not assume one exists.

You want the excitement of a pack
A pack is a paid chance, not a purchase of a particular player. It can produce a useful card, several lower-rated items or no card that improves your team. Set a maximum number of openings before you buy, and treat that limit as a budget rather than a target you must reach.
You want to play Draft
Using Points for Draft entry makes sense only if Draft participation itself is your goal. The entry fee buys access to the mode; it does not guarantee a specific final reward. Check the current entry price and the reward description in-game, then decide whether you would still value the Draft experience if your run ends early.
You want Premium Pass content
The Premium Pass is a progression purchase rather than a single random opening. Read the current track, unlock conditions and expiry date in the game. It is most relevant when you expect to complete enough of the track to claim the listed rewards; buying it late in a season without checking remaining time can leave rewards unclaimed.

Store offers and their costs are live. They can differ by game year, platform, region, event and the moment at which you open the Store. EA’s published probability guidance also warns that simulations are rerun when content changes. Consequently, a pack that looked attractive during one promotion may have different contents or odds later.
- Open Ultimate Team and enter the Store.
- Select the offer you are considering and note its FC Points price, contents, expiration timer and any stated guarantees.
- Read the complete reward description, including whether items are tradeable, loan items, player items, consumables or a mixture.
- Choose Show Pack Probabilities before confirming a pack purchase.
- Record the information if you are comparing several offers, because an offer can disappear or change when the Store refreshes.
EA’s official guidance does not establish a universal expected return for current offers. A probability band alone cannot tell you whether the items you receive will be useful to your club, and it does not provide a complete economic comparison between a pack, Draft entry and Premium Pass.
How to read Show Pack Probabilities correctly
What the percentage measures
The display gives a minimum probability of receiving one or more items within a listed category or rating range in that pack. For example, a line such as “Gold 82+ Player — 18%” refers to the chance that the pack contains at least one player meeting that displayed classification. It does not mean an 18% chance of any particular 82-rated player, nor an 18% chance of the card you want.

What a 100% line means
A 100% result means at least one item in the displayed category and range is guaranteed. If the line says Gold 75+ Player, the guarantee applies to that broad category and minimum rating, not to a named footballer, special design or top rating.
Why individual cards are much rarer
Specific pack content is selected randomly from large groups of available items. EA notes that the probability of an individual item can be far below the category probability and is often below 1%. A broad “84+” line therefore cannot be converted into the chance of a particular 84-rated player, let alone a sought-after special card.
Why examples online become stale
EA has published illustrative figures such as “Gold 75+ Player — 100%,” “Gold 82+ Player — 18%” and “Gold 84+ Player — 4.2%,” but those figures were explicitly examples and may not match the final or current game. Do not use them as live FC 26 odds. Read the panel attached to the offer on your own account.
Independence means there is no “due” pack
EA states that probability percentages are calculated on a pack-by-pack basis and are not cumulative. If you open five packs without a high-rated card, the sixth opening is not made more likely to contain one. A previous success also does not reduce the displayed chance of the next pack. Each opening is a new random event.
- Do not increase your budget because a target has failed to appear.
- Do not assume a large opening guarantees a category unless the individual pack description says so.
- Do not interpret a run of good or bad results as evidence that the next pack has changed.
- Separate the chance of a category from the chance of a named item when setting expectations.
This is the practical reason to decide your spending limit before opening anything. Once Points are spent, a losing run cannot be repaired by buying one more pack.

A goal-based comparison of the main uses
| Use | What you receive | Certainty | What to check in the live Store |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pack | Random items from the offer’s listed pool | Only the stated minimum category or rating guarantee; individual players remain uncertain | FC Points cost, category probabilities, contents, tradeability, expiry and exclusions |
| Draft entry | Access to a Draft run and its mode-specific rewards | Entry is certain; the eventual reward depends on the run and current reward table | Entry cost, format, reward tiers and remaining event time |
| Premium Pass | Access to the current Premium Pass reward track | Listed track rewards are defined, but completion depends on earning enough progression | Track contents, unlock requirements, season deadline and current price |
| Other Store item | The exact item described by the offer | Usually clearer than a random pack when the item is specified | Whether the item is permanent, a loan, usable in your mode and still obtainable through play |
The table is a decision aid, not a value ranking. The current prices and offers are not fixed in EA’s general guidance, so use the numbers shown in your Store rather than a saved chart or social-media post.

When a pack can be a reasonable choice
A pack is defensible when you understand that the outcome is random, the cost fits a fixed entertainment budget and you would be satisfied with the guaranteed minimum category even if no target player appears. Review the contents for duplicates and unusable consumables before deciding that a larger pack is automatically better.
Set a hard stop
Choose either a maximum FC Points amount or a maximum number of openings. Do not make the limit conditional on “getting lucky.” If the offer changes while you are deciding, stop and reassess the new description instead of continuing because you have already spent Points.
Value certainty over headline rating
A lower-cost offer with a clearly guaranteed item may help your club more than a larger pack whose attractive rating band is only a small minimum chance. Ask whether the guarantee covers a player, a position, a league, a chemistry requirement or merely a broad item class.
Check duplicate and tradeability rules
Read whether the pack can contain duplicate players, loans or untradeable items. An item that cannot be used in your current squad may have less practical value than its rating suggests. These terms are offer-specific, so rely on the text attached to the pack you are opening.
When Draft or Premium Pass is the better fit
Draft
Choose Draft when you want its gameplay format and are prepared for variable rewards. Before entering, inspect the current reward table and the number of matches needed to reach each tier. If you mainly want one particular player, Draft does not remove the uncertainty of obtaining that player.
Premium Pass
Choose the Premium Pass when you will actively progress through its season and value multiple listed rewards. Check how much time remains and which rewards unlock at each level. Buying it after most of the season has passed can be inefficient if you cannot complete the remaining progression.
Rank #4
Direct Store items
If an offer names the exact item or reward category you need, compare it with the time-limited objectives that award similar content. The direct item may cost more Points than a random pack, but its certainty can matter when you are building around a specific squad requirement.
Event currencies are not automatically FC Points
FC 26’s Festival of Football update illustrates why event currencies must be treated separately. EA described Tokens earned through play, with up to 1,000 Tokens per week and 5,000 Tokens in total, for a separate rewards store. EA also said those Tokens were not sold in Store Pack offers. This was a June–July 2026 event example, not evidence that the same event or limits are active now.
When a new promotion appears, identify the currency, how it is earned, where it can be redeemed and its expiry date. Do not spend FC Points expecting them to substitute for a play-earned event token unless the current offer explicitly says so.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Buy Points safely and protect your account
EA says FC Points should be purchased through its listed channels, including the in-game or official Store, your platform store, physical retailer cards or trusted retailers. Availability and denominations vary by region and platform. Confirm that the purchase route is authorised for your account before paying.
Ultimate Team Coins are different: EA says Coins are earned through play and must not be bought from third parties. A website offering discounted Coins or account transactions is not a legitimate FC Points-saving strategy and can put the account at risk. Keep your login details private and avoid any seller that asks for them.
A practical decision checklist
- Define the goal: immediate squad help, Draft access, Premium Pass progression, or entertainment from random openings.
- List free routes first: inspect objectives, current rewards and event activities that can provide the desired type of item through play.
- Open the live offer: note the exact FC Points cost, contents, expiry and restrictions.
- Read the probability panel: distinguish a minimum category or rating guarantee from the chance of an individual item.
- Test the downside: decide whether the lowest plausible outcome would still be acceptable for your budget and club.
- Set a stop point: fix the maximum Points or openings before purchase.
- Recheck after updates: content changes can alter available items and simulations, so do not reuse an old recommendation.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
Mistake: treating a category chance as a player chance
Correction: read the wording after the percentage. It describes a category and range, not a named card. Individual-item odds can be below 1%.
Best Value
Mistake: chasing losses
Correction: remember that openings are independent and non-cumulative. A miss does not make the next attempt due.
Mistake: relying on screenshots of old odds
Correction: use the probability panel on the current offer. EA reruns simulations when content changes.
Mistake: ignoring expiry dates
Correction: check the timer for packs, Draft reward periods, Premium Pass seasons and event stores before spending.
Mistake: assuming more expensive means better value
Correction: compare the reward type and certainty with your actual goal. EA’s published material does not provide a universal return-on-Points calculation.
Bottom-line decision
Spend FC Points only after the live Store tells you exactly what is guaranteed, what remains random and when the offer ends. Pick a direct item, Draft entry, Premium Pass or pack according to your goal; choose a pack only when you accept its uncertainty and have a fixed stopping limit. Treat every probability as a fresh, independent event, and never use old example odds or third-party Coin sellers to justify a purchase.
