If your podcast already has an RSS feed, you can send selected episodes to YouTube through YouTube Studio. YouTube verifies that you control the feed, turns each selected audio episode into a video using your show art, and uploads it to your channel. The RSS option is available only in selected regions.

What YouTube’s RSS podcast setup does

YouTube represents a podcast as a playlist and its episodes as videos. With RSS delivery, YouTube uses your show art as a static image for each episode video. After setup, new episodes added to the feed can upload automatically. RSS delivery makes the podcast available on YouTube and YouTube Music; it does not distribute it to other podcast services. YouTube’s RSS delivery guide explains the process.

YouTube Music inclusion and podcast badges may be available, but eligibility is not guaranteed for every playlist. Content you do not own, and copyright issues, can affect eligibility. YouTube’s podcast distribution guidance describes these features.

Check these requirements before connecting your feed

  • Regional availability: RSS delivery is limited to selected countries and regions. Check the current availability list for the channel owner’s location; that is the location that matters.
  • Feed and verification email: Have the RSS feed URL and access to the email address included in the feed. YouTube sends the ownership code to that address. If you do not know which address is listed, ask your podcast host.
  • Show art: YouTube uses the podcast’s show art as the still image in RSS-created episode videos.
  • YouTube Studio access: Sign in to Studio. If the channel does not have advanced feature access, YouTube may require identity verification during setup.
  • Import choice: Decide whether to import all existing episodes, episodes released since a chosen date, or only future episodes.
  • Visibility and sponsorships: Decide the intended visibility and whether the episodes contain branded content, such as sponsorships or endorsements.

You do not need recording equipment for this RSS workflow: its documented inputs are an existing feed, Studio access, verification email access, and show art.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Connect the RSS feed and publish the podcast

  1. In YouTube Studio, choose Create → New podcast → Submit RSS feed.
  2. Review and accept the RSS ingestion terms. Enter the feed URL and continue.
  3. Request the verification code. Retrieve it from the email address specified in the RSS feed, enter it in Studio, and complete verification.
  4. Choose which episodes to import: all existing episodes, episodes from a selected date, or future episodes only.
  5. Review the visibility details and save. Mark branded content in the setup if applicable.
  6. Wait for the episode videos to upload. YouTube says this can take a few days. Initial RSS uploads are private; YouTube recommends waiting until all selected episodes have uploaded before publishing so you can check for problems.
  7. When the uploads are ready, open Content → Podcasts and select Publish beside the feed. The podcast and new episodes become public after publication unless you change their visibility settings.
  8. Review the imported videos for copyright or monetization issues. Disclose sponsorships, endorsements, or other branded content using YouTube’s applicable controls.

For the current Studio workflow and publishing controls, see YouTube’s guide to publishing or disconnecting RSS episodes.

Choose RSS or make episode videos yourself

Consideration RSS delivery Manual video upload
How episodes appear YouTube creates a video using the show art as a static image. You create or convert each episode into a video, such as one with a static image, audiogram, or other visuals.
New episodes After setup, new episodes added to the feed can upload automatically. You upload each episode video yourself.
Availability Only available in selected regions, based on the channel owner’s location. You can create a podcast in Studio and add full-length episode videos without RSS.
Audio-only files YouTube creates video files from selected RSS episodes. An MP3 by itself is not a YouTube podcast episode; turn it into a video first.
Visual control The RSS-created episode video uses the show art as its image. You choose the visual format for the video.

If RSS is unavailable where the channel owner is located, or you prefer to control each episode’s visuals, create the podcast in YouTube Studio and add full-length episode videos. Keep the podcast playlist for full episodes in their intended listening order; clips and season-specific playlists should not be designated as podcast playlists. See YouTube’s guide to creating a podcast in Studio.

Know what RSS does not keep in sync

  • Back catalog notifications: YouTube does not notify subscribers when back-catalog episodes are added through RSS.
  • Show details: Later changes to the RSS feed do not automatically update the show details on YouTube.
  • Changed audio: Replacing an audio file in the feed does not automatically replace the YouTube video. Use Re-upload from RSS feed to correct an ingested episode; YouTube creates a new video and makes the old one private.
  • Deleting a YouTube copy: Deleting the episode video does not delete the RSS item. YouTube may upload it again unless you also remove the episode from the feed. If you only want to hide the YouTube copy, making it private is an option.
  • Dates and ordering: The playlist uses the feed release date when available, otherwise the YouTube publish date. YouTube does not verify RSS release dates, and different surfaces may show the feed date or YouTube publish date.
  • Existing podcast on YouTube: You can connect RSS from the podcast’s details page. Choose an import date later than the latest episode already on YouTube to avoid duplicates.

For correction and removal details, consult YouTube’s RSS publishing and disconnect instructions. Some podcast hosts offer YouTube delivery functionality, but YouTube does not name compatible hosts in its help material; check with your own provider rather than assuming support.

Or let it run in the cloud

RSS ingestion is for delivering podcast episodes, not keeping a live stream running. If you also want uploaded videos to loop as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams your uploads at their original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start the free day.
