Remedy’s notes confirm that repeat-run feature but do not spell out the exact menu prompt for starting a later cycle. They also publish carryover rules for New Game+, not a separate item-by-item guarantee for every NG++ cycle. The clearest supported answer is that the established NG+ rules carry combat progression forward while traversal abilities reset; later-cycle details beyond that remain unconfirmed.
How to start New Game++
Install update 1.4.0 or later. Remedy says the update lets players continue through an “infinite number of runs” in New Game++, but its notes do not identify a special NG++ command, button sequence, or menu path. Use the New Game+ transition offered by the game after completing a run, and follow the current in-game prompt. If you need to preserve a particular run, keep its save rather than assuming how later transitions handle it.
A third-party guide describes the original New Game+ transition—not the later-cycle NG++ flow—as becoming available after the campaign epilogue through the Hedron illustration on the abilities mural in the Gap. Its controller sequence is D-pad Down to enter the Gap, hold L1 while facing the illustration, then press X and confirm Yes. Because this predates the NG++ update and is not Remedy’s NG++ instruction, treat it only as a reference for the original transition, not as a verified sequence for starting subsequent cycles. It is reasonable to expect the established New Game+ rules to inform subsequent runs, but that is an inference—not a separate Remedy guarantee for every NG++ transition. Remedy’s official New Game Plus overview is the source for the carryover categories; the 1.4.0 update notes establish unlimited runs.
What changes in New Game+ that may make another run worthwhile
These are features Remedy describes for NG+, not additional bonuses announced specifically for the second or later NG++ cycle.

- Evolving encounters: Remedy says enemies become more dangerous, encounters can change, and some bosses may show new behavior.
- More to complete or revisit: another run can offer a chance to tackle missed World Quests, bounties, and collectibles, and to see different outcomes in some side stories and conversations. This does not mean every choice changes or that a particular alternate ending is guaranteed.
Save slots and run separation
Update 1.4.0 raises the main-menu save-slot count from five to seven. Remedy also says New Game+ runs and the original run live in separate save folders. The update notes do not explain exact save behavior across every subsequent NG++ transition, so do not assume that a later run replaces or preserves a particular save without checking the in-game save information.
