To start Kitchen Storm in Grow a Garden, submit cooked food to Chris P until the meter above him reaches 40 points. The guides published in August 2025 report that higher-rarity dishes contribute more points, from 2 for Common food to 9 for Transcendent food. These mechanics are guide-reported and have not been independently confirmed for the live game on October 8, 2026.
How to trigger Kitchen Storm
- Cook a dish. Use the in-game cooking pot. A Recipe Book near Chris P reportedly shows dish ingredients, but the Grow a Garden Wiki cautions that its recipe information may be outdated or untested. See the Grow a Garden Wiki’s cooking page.
- Hold the cooked food and go to Chris P.
- Submit the dish. Choose “Try this food I cooked up!” Beebom’s August 9, 2025 guide reports this as the submission interaction: Beebom’s Kitchen Storm guide.
- Check the meter above Chris P. Keep submitting dishes until it reaches 40 points; the guides say that threshold starts the storm.
How many points each food rarity gives
Beebom and Pro Game Guides both report the following points per submitted dish. These are guide-reported values, not independently verified current-game measurements.
| Food rarity | Points per submission |
|---|---|
| Common | 2 |
| Uncommon | 3 |
| Rare | 4 |
| Legendary | 5 |
| Mythical | 6 |
| Divine | 7 |
| Prismatic | 8 |
| Transcendent | 9 |
Based on that scale, the points come from the dish’s rarity rather than a separate bonus for a particular recipe. The sources do not establish ingredient costs or a best-value recipe, so use the higher-rarity dishes you already have rather than assuming a specific dish is optimal. The full point scale is also listed by Pro Game Guides.
What Kitchen Storm reportedly does
Beebom describes Kitchen Storm as a server-wide event that doubles cooking speed, increases the chance that crop mutations carry over to cooked food, and applies Aromatic to a random crop. The Grow a Garden Wiki additionally reports a 10-minute duration and says further 40-point increments raise the storm’s level. Its listed cooking-speed multipliers are 2x at Level 1, 2.5x at Level 2, 3x at Level 3, and 3.5x at Level 4. The wiki also reports that Level 1 applies Aromatic to a random garden fruit every 30 seconds; it does not state a cooldown for higher levels. These details are historical guide and wiki reporting, not confirmation that every effect remains unchanged in the current game.

Does Kitchen Storm still work?
The available how-to guides date to August 9, 2025. The Grow a Garden Wiki says the original Cooking Event ran from August 2 to August 16, 2025, after which cooking remained available as a permanent feature through the Cooking Kit. That history supports the continued presence of cooking, but does not establish whether Kitchen Storm is currently available or whether its 40-point trigger and effects are unchanged as of October 8, 2026. If the interaction or meter differs in your current server, these older published instructions may no longer match the live game.
