If YouTube starts your ASMR playlist over after the last track, turn off Loop for the playlist. If it jumps to the beginning after you close and reopen YouTube, that is a different resume-position issue: YouTube’s help pages do not promise a setting that always restores the exact video and timestamp.
First, identify what “restarting” means

Turn off playlist Loop on your device
YouTube describes Loop as repeating a video or playlist. Playlist repeat is separate from Autoplay, which starts another related video. Settings and control locations can differ by device, so change the setting on the device you use to listen.
Computer or browser
- Open a video that is part of the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel beside the video.
- Find the Loop control in the playlist box. If it is active, click it to stop the playlist repeating.
- If a related video still starts after the playlist or video ends, turn off Autoplay separately at the bottom of the player.
- If you used a queue and need the sequence later, save it as a playlist; a browser queue does not persist after the browser closes.
Phone or tablet
- Start a video through the playlist so its playlist controls appear.
- Use the Loop control in the playlist control box to switch playlist repetition off.
- Check the loop icon: YouTube’s instructions use a “1” marker for repeating a single video. If that state is active, tap the control again as needed so the playlist itself is not set to repeat.
- Check Autoplay separately in the player or app settings if YouTube starts a related video after an item ends.
- For a sequence you want to keep, use a saved playlist rather than relying on a queue. YouTube says queueing on mobile or tablet requires Premium.
TV or game console
- Select and play the playlist.
- While a video is playing, use the remote or controller to reveal playback controls.
- Find Repeat and cycle through its states. If it indicates “Repeat • Playlist,” disable that state to prevent the playlist from starting over at its end.
- To prevent a related video from starting, adjust Autoplay separately in the YouTube TV app settings.
Loop, Autoplay, queues, and saved playlists are different
- Playlist Loop starts the playlist again when it reaches its end.
- Single-video Loop repeats one item; on mobile YouTube indicates this with a “1” on the loop icon.
- Autoplay starts another related video. Turning it off does not turn off playlist Loop.
- A queue is a temporary play order. On a computer, it will not save after the browser closes; YouTube says mobile/tablet queueing requires Premium.
- A saved playlist keeps a sequence available. YouTube’s cited instructions do not say that saving it also preserves the last playback position.
If it still opens at the beginning
First confirm that you are reopening the saved playlist rather than an old temporary queue, and check Loop on the device where playback is occurring. If the playlist itself remains intact but playback starts at item one after closing the app, browser, or using another device, the official YouTube guidance cited here does not establish a universal keep-position control. Disabling Loop or Autoplay should not be treated as a guarantee that YouTube will resume at the previous item and timestamp.
