Where to find the Private Storage chest
Initial temporary lodgings in Hernand
Pearl Abyss’s Update 1.00.03 notice, quoted in Windows Central’s March 23, 2026 report, identifies the initial temporary lodgings in Hernand as a Private Storage location. This is the early location reference; availability can depend on your progress and the game version.
Howling Hill Camp
At Howling Hill, look inside the black tent where Kliff’s bed is—not among the camp’s other chests. PowerPyx’s location guide says access follows Chapter 3’s “Greymanes Reunited” main quest. The exact tent navigation and quest timing come from that guide rather than the official patch notes.
How to deposit or withdraw items
- Go to a Private Storage location, such as the initial temporary lodgings in Hernand or the black tent at Howling Hill Camp once available.
- Interact with the chest. The storage and inventory screens open.
- Choose items to move between your carried inventory and Private Storage, then confirm the transfer using the on-screen prompt.
Check the interaction label before transferring: Private Storage is the manual deposit-and-withdraw system. The Supply Chest is different; The Games Wiki’s storage overview describes it as a collection point for missed loot, not a place where you manually deposit items.

Private Storage capacity and camp expansions
Pearl Abyss’s Update 1.02.00 notes, dated April 4, 2026, describe Private Storage starting at 240 slots and increasing with Greymane Camp expansion. The listed increments reach 1,000 slots after the final expansion:

Other storage containers are specialized
Update 1.04.00, revised April 27, 2026, added housing storage with item-specific functions. These containers do not share one universal inventory or acceptance rule. The capacities and uses below are those stated in the Pearl Abyss Update 1.04.00 notes.

After moving the camp to Pailune, Update 1.04.00 says you receive a Private Storage item that can be placed through housing mode. This is a placeable item, distinct from the fixed Howling Hill chest.

If the chest is missing
- At Howling Hill, check the black tent containing Kliff’s bed rather than searching the camp generally.
- If the chest is not available there, verify whether you have completed “Greymanes Reunited” in Chapter 3, as the Howling Hill unlock timing is reported by PowerPyx.
- At the earlier location, look at the initial temporary lodgings in Hernand; that location is identified in the Update 1.00.03 notice quoted by Windows Central.
- If you are in Pailune after relocating the camp, use housing mode to place the Private Storage item described in Update 1.04.00.
- Follow the current in-game interaction prompt and confirm it says Private Storage; patch changes after Update 1.04.00 are not established by the sources cited here.
