Set up a verified, eligible channel; connect OBS with YouTube’s stream URL and key; and keep the PC, power, internet, and source media running. YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation from a home PC, so test the full setup and plan for outages, rights checks, and archive limits.
Before you start
Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Creators must be at least 16. First-time live activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start.
Prepare audio and visuals you have the right to use
Use your own Om chanting recording and visuals, or obtain the relevant rights for both. A devotional subject or publicly accessible recording does not make material free to rebroadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; even a license may not prevent an interruption if the rights holder has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Keep rights documentation and prefer original material where possible.
Choose the presentation
A static image with chanting audio is less demanding than moving video, but either format must use content you are entitled to stream. The supported setup is YouTube’s standard encoder workflow; there is no separate India-only encoder procedure established in the guidance.

Set up YouTube Live and OBS on Windows
- Enable live streaming: In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live. Complete any channel verification or activation steps shown there. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create an encoder stream: In Live Control Room, use the Stream workflow to create the broadcast. YouTube’s encoder guide lists OBS, an open-source software encoder available at no charge, as an option.
- Configure OBS: Open OBS’s streaming settings and enter the stream URL and stream key provided by YouTube. Treat the key like a password. If it is exposed, reset it using YouTube’s stream-key controls.
- Add your source: Add the media you intend to broadcast, such as a still image and audio file or a video source. Check that the audio is audible and that the image or video appears as expected in OBS.
- Test before going live: Start the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check the picture, sound, and stream health; then follow the Live Control Room workflow to go live. Test the complete arrangement before relying on it for a long broadcast.
Choose stable video, audio, and network settings
Match the stream to your measured upload
For a mostly static image with chanting audio, there is usually no practical reason to select a high resolution just because the PC can encode it. YouTube recommends testing upload speed, leaving about 20% upload headroom, and using a reliable network. Select a resolution and bitrate your measured connection can sustain, then validate them in a test broadcast.
YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder streaming, constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds.

Use bitrate recommendations for the codec you select
The following are YouTube’s current recommended H.264 video bitrates, not guarantees of stable performance on a particular PC or connection:

| 1080p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
These figures are for H.264. YouTube gives different ranges for AV1 and HEVC, so do not apply the H.264 values to those codecs. If tests show dropped frames or unstable upload, reduce the resolution or bitrate and test again.

Wired networking is optional
A wired connection can be convenient for a stationary PC, but YouTube does not require Ethernet or prescribe a cable category. Check whether your PC and router can connect by cable before buying accessories; a cable alone cannot guarantee a stable stream.
Keep the broadcast running and protect your archive
A PC-based 24/7 stream depends on the computer staying powered on, the encoder continuing to run, the internet connection holding, and the media playing correctly. YouTube’s guidance does not promise uninterrupted operation for a single nonstop session. Monitor stream health and audio/video quality, and make sure local recordings are growing if you are keeping a backup.

YouTube may not capture a stream that runs for more than 12 hours. If preserving a YouTube replay matters, plan shorter sessions and test how you will stop and restart the encoder and reconnect the broadcast. Separate sessions do not guarantee a seamless experience for viewers, so describe any planned handoff accurately.

YouTube scans live content for third-party material. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt or terminate the broadcast, or apply a strike. A rights holder may need to allowlist your channel even if you have permission to use the content.

Eligible monetized channels may be able to use live ads, Super Chat or Super Stickers, and memberships, but ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. YouTube’s guidance does not establish that a repetitive, continuous Om loop will pass monetization review or qualify for monetization. Do not plan on earnings without confirming eligibility and policy compliance in YouTube’s current materials.
Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification, restrictions in the previous 90 days, and whether first-time activation is still pending. Activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Confirm that OBS uses the current stream URL and key from Live Control Room. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update OBS.
- Preview appears unstable or frames drop: Recheck measured upload capacity and the recommended 20% headroom. Lower the output resolution or bitrate, then test again.
- The broadcast is interrupted over rights concerns: Review the audio and visual sources, retain proof of permission, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable. A license by itself may not prevent automated interruption.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Keep a local recording and use tested, shorter sessions if a YouTube archive is important.
- The stream stops while unattended: Check power settings, PC sleep behavior, encoder status, network reliability, and audio/video playback. Monitoring can help catch a failure, but does not guarantee 24/7 uptime.

These are third-party services; check their current pricing, India availability, rights handling, reliability claims, and terms directly before choosing one.
