For a repeating recording, an encoder or a cloud playout service can provide the feed. Test privately before going public, clear rights to every audio and visual element, and monitor YouTube Studio: copyright detection can interrupt a stream, including in some cases when you have a licence but the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID.
Choose what “24/7 chanting” means for your channel
There are two distinct formats. A live performance means someone is chanting in real time and requires a continuing live audio-video production. A repeating recording means you upload or play a pre-recorded chant as a live broadcast; it can run unattended only while the system sending the feed and its internet connection remain available, unless you use a cloud service to handle playout. In either case, the stream is a public broadcast, not merely personal listening, so make sure you are entitled to use every recording, performance and visual.
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder and console as ways to go live. An encoder is a practical choice for a continuous audiovisual feed with overlays or production equipment, but YouTube’s cited guidance does not mandate a particular encoder, computer specification, bitrate or configuration for a guaranteed 24/7 broadcast.
Prepare the channel and the material
Enable YouTube Live in advance
- Verify the YouTube channel and check that it has not had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. These are YouTube’s stated prerequisites for live access. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming
- If this is the channel’s first live stream, enable it at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast. YouTube for Artists recommends this lead time. YouTube for Artists resources
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and choose the encoder workflow if you are sending a continuous feed from encoding software or a service. Use the stream key and ingest details shown for that stream in Studio; treat the key like a password and do not publish it.
Clear the chant, performance and visuals
Devotional subject matter does not automatically make a recording free to rebroadcast. The composition, a particular singer’s performance, the sound recording, artwork, video, background music and other inserted material may involve separate rights. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. It may replace the video with a placeholder, interrupt the broadcast or terminate it when copyrighted content is detected. YouTube also warns that a stream can be interrupted even if you licensed third-party content when the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. - Use an original recording you made and control, or obtain permission that covers live rebroadcast on YouTube and the relevant territory and duration.
- Ask the label, distributor or other rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID. YouTube for Artists specifically recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. YouTube for Artists resources
- Keep written licence terms and evidence of permissions available. A licence does not itself guarantee that automated matching will not interrupt the live feed.
- Check images, looping video, logos, lyrics and any ambient or background sound as carefully as the chant recording.
India’s Copyright Act defines communication to the public to include making a work or performance available to the public through diffusion. Build and test a continuous feed
- Prepare the source. For a recording-based stream, assemble the chant and visuals into a continuous sequence or playlist, and check that the loop has no unintended silence, abrupt transitions or material you have not cleared. For a live performance, connect the microphones and camera or other production sources you need.
- Choose the sending method. Configure encoder software or hardware with the ingest address and stream key for the scheduled stream in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s guidance supports encoder streaming but does not prescribe particular software, hardware, bitrate, resolution or keyframe interval for this use case; select settings your production system and connection can sustain, and follow the encoder and YouTube interface guidance shown for your stream.
- Run a private or unlisted test. Verify that audio is intelligible and consistent, the picture is present, the loop behaves as intended, and the internet connection can sustain the feed. Check the preview and stream health indicators in Studio before making the event public. - Schedule and announce. Set a clear title and description that accurately identify whether this is a live performance or a repeating recording. Share the scheduled event where your audience expects updates.
- Plan chat and monitoring. Arrange a moderator for a public 24/7 chat or disable chat if you cannot monitor it. Keep YouTube Studio available to check for warnings, copyright notices and interruptions.
Choose who is responsible when the stream stops
A locally run encoder gives you direct control of the production, but the stream depends on the encoder computer, power and network staying available. A cloud playout service can keep an uploaded-video feed running without a computer at home; it does not remove the need to clear the media rights, configure YouTube Live or monitor the channel. No YouTube source cited here promises a particular 24/7 setup or uptime.

The same announcement reported, based on YouTube internal data from December 2025, that the number of Indian YouTube channels earning seven figures or more in INR revenue was up over 20% year over year. That is broad platform context, not a statistic about devotional livestreams or a prediction of what a particular channel will earn.

Troubleshoot common interruptions
- Live access is unavailable: confirm the channel is verified and check for a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first broadcast, allow the recommended 24-hour activation period.
- The encoder does not connect: compare its ingest address and stream key with the current stream’s details in YouTube Studio. If the key was exposed, replace it in Studio and update the encoder.
- YouTube flags or interrupts the feed: inspect Studio for the matched material. Remove or replace disputed audio or visuals, contact the rights holder, and resolve any required Content ID allowlisting. A licence alone may not prevent interruption.
- The feed stops during an otherwise valid broadcast: check the sending computer or service, power and internet connection, then reconnect using the current stream details. Monitor Studio after recovery rather than assuming the broadcast resumed correctly.
- Viewers report silent audio or a frozen picture: inspect the source playback, encoder input and outgoing preview during a private test; correct the failing part of the signal before relaunching publicly.
