You can keep Kannada songs playing on YouTube around the clock by running a playlist and encoder on an always-on cloud host, then sending its output to a YouTube Live stream. The server removes the need to leave a home computer running; it does not provide permission to stream the music. Clear rights for every recording and visual first, then configure, test, and monitor the broadcast.
Before you start: clear the music and visuals
Rights are the first gate, not a final technical detail. YouTube’s live-stream terms say the content provider must have the necessary rights to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Confirm permission for the recordings, the territories where you intend to broadcast, and any planned archive or monetization. Clear accompanying artwork, videos, or other visuals separately where needed.
Buying a track, crediting the artist, or describing the broadcast as non-profit does not by itself grant live-stream rights. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A detected match can replace the picture, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. Even music you have licensed may trigger an interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Ask the relevant rights holder whether channel allowlisting is available and confirm that it covers your intended use and territories.
Choose how to run the cloud broadcast
Self-managed cloud server
You provision an always-on cloud instance and run the media playback or encoding software yourself. You control the playlist, process supervision, updates, monitoring, and recovery procedure. This offers flexibility, but you are responsible for keeping the whole pipeline running and diagnosing failures.

Managed encoding service
A managed service may take on some encoding or operational work, but check its actual media-handling options, restart behavior, redundancy, storage, regional availability, and current service terms. YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive among its verified software encoders; that listing alone does not establish that it is the right fit or lowest-cost option for a looping music channel.
There is no universal cloud server size established for this job. The requirements depend on whether your files can be played and muxed as-is or need real-time transcoding, as well as your output resolution, storage, monitoring, region, and recovery goals. Compare current compute, storage, data-transfer, and managed-service charges for the region you choose rather than relying on a generic monthly estimate.

Set up the YouTube Live destination
- Check channel eligibility. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and verify that the channel can go live. YouTube says a channel must be verified, have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days, and meet its age requirement. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable Live well before your planned launch. Recheck YouTube’s current requirements when you set up the broadcast because platform rules can change.
- Create or schedule a stream. In Live Control Room, create a new stream or schedule one. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. Use the current values from Studio rather than reusing an old key without checking it.
- Protect the key. Enter the URL and key only in your encoder’s destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in a public playlist, screenshot, shared document, or public server log. If it is exposed, replace or rotate it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Choose secure ingest and output settings. Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it; YouTube describes it as RTMP over TLS/SSL. Follow YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the output resolution and codec you select. Its guidance includes H.264, H.265, and AV1 options, recommends CBR, and recommends a two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that every encoder supports every codec or setting. Use the settings actually available in your encoder and confirm that they meet YouTube’s current requirements.
- Check the preview before starting. Start the encoder output and wait for the stream preview in Studio. Confirm that video appears, audio is audible and undistorted, and the stream is going to the intended channel before you start the public broadcast.
Build the playlist and unattended playback
Prepare a sequence of source tracks and an appropriate visual layer, such as cleared cover art or a permitted background video. Keep a separate copy of your source files and verify that each file plays correctly before adding it to the automated sequence. Decide how the playlist handles its final track, transitions, and any gaps so the output does not stop when the sequence ends.
On a self-managed host, configure the player or encoder to launch when the server starts and arrange for a failed process to restart. Add monitoring that can notify you if the playback process stops, the connection drops, or audio and video are missing. These are implementation recommendations for an unattended server, not a YouTube-mandated cloud design. The specific commands and configuration depend on your chosen operating system, player, encoder, and provider; test that combination rather than assuming a generic looping command will work.

Test recovery before leaving it unattended
- Listen through song transitions and check that audio levels remain consistent and do not clip or fall silent.
- Watch the Studio preview and the public watch page to confirm the picture and audio remain present.
- Simulate a network interruption and verify how your encoder reconnects to YouTube and whether the live session needs operator action.
- Test that the playback or encoder process restarts after a crash or server reboot, and confirm that alerts reach someone who can respond.
- Check that any backup recording is usable and that the files contain the expected audio and video.
- Document a recovery procedure, including where to check the encoder, how to restart it, and how to confirm the stream is live again.
YouTube’s own live-streaming guidance recommends testing the encoder, preview, failover, local archive integrity, watch-page access, and continuous audio/video quality. A cloud host changes where the encoder runs, but not the need to test the complete path.
Plan session boundaries and archives
YouTube can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not treat a single uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast as a reliably preserved video. If an archive matters, record independently and test that recording process. You can also plan separate sessions shorter than 12 hours, but build and test a deliberate restart plan: do not assume the transition will be seamless or that YouTube will produce one complete archive.

Troubleshoot common failures
