Yes—you can stream a rain ambience video to YouTube over JioFiber, but a plan’s advertised speed does not guarantee a stable 24/7 broadcast. Your actual upload connection, streaming computer, encoder, power and router must all hold up. Test the complete setup at the quality you intend to use, leave upload headroom, and plan separately for outages and replay: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
What you need before going live
- A YouTube channel that is verified, eligible for live streaming and has no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The creator must be at least 16. First-time live activation can take time, so check well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- A streaming computer, an encoder such as OBS, and a JioFiber connection whose real upload performance can sustain your chosen stream settings.
- Rain footage, images and audio that you created or have permission to use in a live broadcast.
- A plan for power, router, computer or internet interruptions, plus a separate local recording if you need a complete replay.
Jio describes its broadband services on its JioFiber page, but an advertised plan speed is not a guarantee of sustained upload or uninterrupted service at your address. Measure the connection from the machine and network path you will actually stream from.
Set up the rain video and encoder
1. Prepare the video and audio loop
Build a stable visual and audio source for the ambience stream. Check that the loop transitions cleanly and that the machine can play it while encoding. Use original or properly licensed material, and keep records of permissions. A track described as “royalty-free” is not automatically cleared for every use or immune from a live copyright match.
2. Choose a starting quality and bitrate
YouTube’s current encoder guide gives these H.264 bitrate recommendations. They are encoder settings—not a promise that a JioFiber connection will sustain them. Choose only after testing real upload performance, and leave headroom rather than setting the encoder at the full speed a test happens to report.

These examples come from YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrate and resolution guide. Its guidance also specifies RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, supports H.264, H.265 and AV1 video, up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds). YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Settings can change, so consult the live guide when configuring the encoder.
3. Check the computer under load
Configure OBS or another compatible encoder for the selected resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate. The computer must play the source and encode continuously, not merely meet a software’s basic requirements. OBS notes that meeting its system requirements does not guarantee a particular streaming workload will perform well; see its system requirements guidance.

Create the YouTube stream and test it
- Confirm access: in YouTube Studio, verify the channel and confirm live streaming is enabled. Check that there are no current restrictions; first-time activation may require advance setup.
- Create an encoder stream: open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create a stream for encoder software. Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it.
- Configure and preview: use the chosen encoder settings, connect to YouTube using RTMPS where available, and preview the incoming feed before making it public.
- Test the actual programme: send a private or unlisted test using the real rain video, motion, audio and intended settings. Run an upload speed test from the streaming computer and network path—not from a different device elsewhere in the home.
- Inspect stream health: watch YouTube’s stream-health messages and the encoder’s status during the test. If the connection fluctuates or the encoder reports dropped frames, reduce the bitrate or output demands and test again.
- Start conservatively: once the test is stable, schedule or start the public stream and continue monitoring. A wired connection can reduce Wi-Fi variability between the computer and router, but it cannot resolve upstream congestion, a JioFiber outage or a power failure.
YouTube recommends testing with representative content and monitoring stream health. Its computer livestreaming tips provide additional setup guidance.
Plan for 24/7 continuity and replay
A continuous broadcast depends on every part of the chain: encoder, computer, router, power and internet. A speed test or a successful short test cannot prove that a household connection will remain available around the clock, and the sources do not establish a universal JioFiber upload or uptime guarantee.

Replay is a separate problem from keeping the live feed online. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving the whole programme matters, record locally and consider ending and restarting sessions well before the 12-hour boundary rather than relying on one day-long archive. YouTube recommends a local recording backup; storage needs depend on bitrate, duration and recording format. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Copyright and monetization risks
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including material in other broadcasts. A match can trigger a warning, replace the feed with a placeholder image, interrupt or terminate the stream, or lead to a strike. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to a Content ID allowlist to avoid interruptions. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and livestream terms explain the requirements; you are responsible for having the necessary rights.

Monetization is not automatic. YouTube’s policy says highly repetitive or mass-produced material, including similar videos with little variation or value, can be ineligible. A rain ambience format is not automatically disqualified, but make the original contribution clear—such as your own footage, sound design or presentation—and do not assume a continuous stream will earn revenue.
