Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo keep a Western Ghats waterfall ambience video on YouTube around the clock, send a prepared video or a genuinely live camera feed through YouTube Live using an encoder. Confirm your channel is eligible, clear the footage and audio for livestreaming and replay, connect the encoder with your YouTube stream key, and test the picture, sound, loop and connection before going live. For a prerecorded loop, label it honestly: it is not live camera footage.
YouTube’s guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not promise that a single 24-hour-or-longer event will run or archive continuously. Plan and test how sessions will transition, and verify current behavior in Live Control Room before advertising uninterrupted availability.
Choose a prerecorded loop or a live camera
A prerecorded ambience feed is usually the more manageable route for a continuous broadcast: prepare the footage and sound, then send them from a playback source through an encoder. A live camera instead shows the waterfall as it is being captured and brings additional power, connectivity, weather-protection and site-access considerations. In either case, describe the source accurately.
| Consideration | Prerecorded ambience feed | Live camera feed |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Prepared footage and sound file | Camera capturing the waterfall now |
| Equipment | Computer or playback source plus encoder | Camera, encoder and stable connection |
| Rights and permissions | Rights for footage and audio to be livestreamed and replayed | Rights to record and permissions for the location, plus rights to any added sound |
| Key operational concern | Loop continuity, playback and stream-session transitions | Power, connectivity, weather exposure and site access |
YouTube’s platform guidance does not establish filming permission for any particular Western Ghats waterfall. Identify the precise site and check with its land manager or relevant local authority before recording, especially for commercial use.

Clear footage, sound and location rights first
Use your own footage and field recordings, or obtain licenses that explicitly permit worldwide YouTube livestreaming and archived replays. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights. Keep licenses, releases and any written permissions accessible.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate the stream or replace it with a placeholder. Even if you have a license, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; YouTube explains this in its copyright guidance for live streams. Confirm allowlisting with the rights owner before launch rather than assuming a license alone will prevent a match.

Check eligibility and create the YouTube stream
- Confirm livestream access. YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a livestream restriction in the previous 90 days. It also states that streamers must be at least 16.
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go Live, then create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling can create a watch page that viewers can share and use for reminders. See YouTube’s encoder setup steps.
- Copy the connection details securely. Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s server and key fields, or use the encoder’s YouTube integration if available. The key is a credential that lets YouTube accept the encoder feed; do not publish or share it. Reset it if you think it has been exposed. See YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance.
Connect the source and configure the encoder
Set the encoder’s video source to the prepared waterfall file or camera feed, and route the intended audio. For a prerecorded file, play through the loop point during testing: check for a black frame, an abrupt change in water sound, a pause in playback or an unexpected end. These are production checks, not YouTube guarantees.
YouTube’s encoder settings guidance recommends H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Audio can use AAC or MP3. Choose a resolution and bitrate your encoder and upload connection can sustain. Match the output to the source rather than upscaling low-resolution footage without a reason.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Bitrate headroom: YouTube recommends leaving 20% of your available upload bandwidth beyond the total stream bitrate. Include both primary and backup feeds in the total if you send both. Its streaming tips caution that the combined stream bitrate must not exceed available upload bandwidth.
- Representative testing: Test with footage containing similar movement and audio to the intended broadcast. Waterfall scenes can have continuous fine motion and sound, so a static test image or silent clip will not reveal every issue.
- Preview and access: Inspect the Live Control Room preview, check the audio level and picture, and confirm the stream is accessible from the channel and watch page, including on mobile. YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover preview and monitoring practices.
Plan for continuous operation and archives
A “24/7” channel presence is an operational goal, not a guarantee that one YouTube event can run indefinitely. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived in its encoder-stream instructions. That statement does not establish how a longer event behaves or whether one event can remain live for 24 hours or more.
If you are building continuous availability from recurring sessions, create a transition plan and test it before launch. Check current Live Control Room behavior, observe session changes, monitor stream health, and verify local recordings or archives where relevant. Make a plan for outages and be clear with viewers when the feed is unavailable rather than promising uninterrupted access you cannot confirm.

Make the ambience stream original and monetization-aware
Having permission to use footage or sound does not, by itself, make a channel eligible for monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policies address reused content separately from copyright and also describe repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content.” The policy review applies across a channel. YouTube’s July 15, 2025 policy note says it renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is covered.
Give viewers a clear sense of what you made: original location footage and sound, meaningful editing choices, or useful context about the place and recording can show the creator’s contribution. No particular format guarantees monetization approval.

Troubleshoot common problems
- YouTube will not accept the stream: Check that livestream access is enabled, the channel meets the stated eligibility conditions, and the encoder has the current stream URL and key. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.
- The preview is blank or has no sound: Confirm the selected video source is playing, the intended audio input is routed, and the encoder is sending the correct feed. Test with representative footage and audio before restarting the public session.
- The stream buffers or loses quality: Check the encoder’s outgoing bitrate against stable upload capacity and leave the recommended 20% headroom above the total bitrate. Reduce the output bitrate or resolution if the connection cannot sustain the current settings.
- The prerecorded loop pauses or jumps: Inspect the file’s end and beginning, playback behavior, and audio continuity. Test a full loop in the same playback setup before using it on air.
- A copyright match interrupts the stream: Review the matched material and your license scope. Ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting for your channel; a license does not necessarily prevent an automated live match.
- A long session ends or its archive is missing: Do not treat the under-12-hour archive guidance as a promise for longer events. Check current Live Control Room behavior, and use tested session transitions and local recording where appropriate.
