Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →You can relay an authorized Bengali radio feed to YouTube Live from an Indian VPS by connecting the station’s audio feed to a server-side encoder, pairing it with a still image or other suitable video, and sending the result to YouTube over RTMPS. First confirm that the station permits YouTube distribution and archiving, and obtain the feed details from its operator: the URL, protocol, any credentials, and expected format. A working feed alone does not grant retransmission rights, and this setup does not guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast.
What you need before you start
- Authorization: permission to relay the station’s audio on YouTube and, if applicable, to archive it in the territories where viewers may access it.
- Feed details: an authorized audio-feed URL, protocol, credentials if required, expected codec or container, and the operator’s guidance on reconnect behavior. These details depend on the station; do not guess them.
- YouTube Live access: a verified channel without a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance.
- An Indian VPS: choose one based on India-region availability, sustained outbound capacity, included data transfer, support, uptime terms, security controls, and total cost. No particular provider or plan is established here.
- An encoder and monitoring plan: a server-side process that can combine the incoming audio with a visual signal, publish to YouTube, and be monitored for failures.
The station’s actual feed, operating system, and VPS provider are not specified, so exact installation commands and encoder options depend on your environment. Verify those against the current documentation for the operating system and encoder you choose.
Prepare YouTube Live and protect the stream key
- Confirm access. Verify the YouTube channel and check that it can go live. If live streaming has not been enabled on the channel before, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream and follow the current setup screen. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains how to connect an encoder using the server URL and stream key.
- Copy the ingest details into a secure configuration. Use the server URL and key shown for the stream. Treat the key like a password: do not expose it in public scripts, screenshots, repositories, or logs. If it is exposed, replace or reset it using YouTube’s current controls.
- Prefer RTMPS. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which carries RTMP over TLS/SSL. Use the secure ingest option supported by your encoder and the current YouTube setup screen. Details: YouTube’s RTMPS guidance.
Configure the VPS encoder
The processing chain is: authorized station audio feed → VPS encoder plus a still image or suitable video signal → YouTube Live ingest. The visual signal gives the audio-led broadcast a video stream; use artwork only if you have the rights to display it. A headless server-side process is a plausible fit for an unattended VPS, while a graphical encoder may be easier to manage interactively if the server has a desktop environment. The right choice depends on your system and operating needs; no specific implementation has been validated here.
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance
YouTube’s encoder-settings page lists H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate; up to 60 fps; a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds; and 128 kbps guidance for stereo audio. Apply the settings that your chosen encoder supports, and check the current requirements before launch: YouTube’s live encoder settings.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For a radio relay, choose a modest video format the VPS can encode continuously rather than assuming high resolution is useful. Test the actual feed and output, and monitor the result. Measure the stream’s sustained bitrate and leave network headroom; the VPS must also have enough CPU capacity for the selected encoding settings.
Check outbound networking
Confirm that the VPS can make outbound connections to the selected YouTube ingest endpoint and that its available bandwidth can sustain the output. NIC’s webcast guidance describes a 2–4 Mbps per-stream requirement for its own government webcast service; that is not a universal YouTube minimum or a general VPS recommendation.

Test the broadcast and plan recovery
- Run a private or unlisted test. Use content similar to the planned broadcast, then check YouTube Live Control Room’s preview and stream-health messages.
- Check the whole audio path. Listen for continuous audio, silence, interruptions, or unexpected format problems. Confirm that the visual signal is present and that the stream is reaching YouTube.
- Test reconnect behavior. Observe what happens if the encoder process or source connection stops and returns. Arrange monitoring that alerts you when the encoder exits or the feed fails.
- Supervise the process if appropriate. A process supervisor can restart a failed encoder process, but it cannot repair a dead station feed, lost VPS network, invalid stream key, or YouTube copyright interruption. Do not treat automatic process restart as an uptime guarantee.
- Monitor after public launch. Keep an eye on stream health and arrange someone or a monitoring system to respond to failures. YouTube recommends testing with similar content and monitoring stream health.
Plan for copyright and long-stream archives
Get rights before relaying the feed
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and can interrupt or terminate a stream after identifying copyrighted material. A license may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Confirm permissions with the station and relevant rights holders before going live, including music rights and any territorial approvals. YouTube’s copyright guidance explains live-stream enforcement.
YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights for the live content. The terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”

Do not rely on YouTube as the only archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If replay matters, keep a separate local recording and decide whether to end and restart the broadcast before that threshold. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream | Live access is not enabled, the channel is not eligible, or first-time activation is still processing. | Check channel verification and restrictions, then allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| YouTube does not receive the encoder feed | Incorrect server URL or stream key, unsupported ingest choice, or an outbound network problem. | Compare the encoder configuration with the current YouTube setup screen, use RTMPS where supported, and confirm outbound connectivity. |
| The preview has no audio or audio drops out | The station feed may be unavailable, credentials may be wrong, or the encoder may not handle the feed’s format or reconnect behavior. | Confirm the endpoint and credentials with the station operator; inspect the encoder’s input and process status; test again with the actual feed. |
| The encoder stops and the stream ends | The process exited, the VPS lost connectivity, or the source feed failed. | Check process and network monitoring, review logs without exposing the stream key, and distinguish a process restart from a source or network recovery. |
| YouTube interrupts the live broadcast | Content ID or another copyright issue may have identified third-party material. | Review YouTube’s notice and resolve rights or channel allowlisting with the relevant rights holder before restarting. |
| A long broadcast is missing from archives | YouTube may not capture a stream longer than 12 hours. | Keep a separate recording and plan shorter broadcast segments if a YouTube replay is required. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a separate option for keeping a YouTube stream running from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not take a live radio feed or broadcast from a camera, so it is not a direct replacement for the VPS audio-feed method above.
