To schedule a prerecorded video as a YouTube live stream in Streamlabs Talk Studio, connect YouTube as a destination, open Schedule, choose +Schedule, select YouTube and Pre-recorded video, upload the file, enter the event details, and schedule it. You do not need to broadcast the video in real time, but you should confirm your account meets YouTube’s live-stream setup requirements first.
Before you schedule the video
Connect and prepare YouTube
Add YouTube as a destination in Talk Studio. If you have not streamed before, YouTube may require channel verification and an initial live-stream setup in YouTube Studio. Streamlabs’ YouTube guide describes starting that setup through Create > Go live, completing the prompts, and choosing the stream’s visibility. The guide dates to 2023, so labels and prompts may have changed; follow the current instructions shown in your account. Streamlabs’ YouTube connection guide.
Check the file and plan limits
Streamlabs’ scheduling guide lists a maximum prerecorded-video file size of 5 GB, a maximum duration of one hour on Standard and two hours on Pro or Ultra, and a scheduling window of up to 50 days in advance. These are plan limits stated in the guide, whose publication date is not shown; check the current Talk Studio plan information and scheduling screen before preparing a video around them. Check your browser and connection
Talk Studio runs in a browser. Streamlabs recommends Chrome or Safari and a stable internet connection. Its Getting Started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, gives 5 Mbps as the minimum upload speed and recommends 10 Mbps for 720p or 20 Mbps for 1080p. These are Streamlabs’ recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular connection will avoid interruptions. Streamlabs’ Talk Studio Getting Started guide.

Schedule a prerecorded video in Talk Studio
- Open scheduling. In Talk Studio, select the Schedule icon, then choose +Schedule.
- Choose the destination. Select YouTube from your available streaming destinations. If it is not listed, connect your YouTube account first.
- Select the broadcast type. Choose Pre-recorded video. This is the option for scheduling an uploaded file as the broadcast itself.
- Upload the video. Select the prepared recording and wait for the upload to complete. If it exceeds the file or duration limit for your plan, use a shorter or smaller export, or check current plan options.
- Fill in event details. Enter the stream title and description, set the date and time, and add a thumbnail.
- Schedule it. Review the destination and event information, then select Schedule. Streamlabs says YouTube creates an event link for the scheduled stream.
The exact buttons and account prompts can change. If the labels differ, use Talk Studio’s current Schedule workflow and confirm the event appears on YouTube for the intended date and time.
Do not confuse scheduling with recording or clips
Talk Studio’s recording feature is for recording a session or stream; its documentation discusses cloud recordings and local tracks for participants. Uploading a finished video and selecting Pre-recorded video is a separate scheduling workflow. Likewise, uploaded intros and outros are clips played at the beginning or end of a stream, not the prerecorded-video broadcast itself. Talk Studio Getting Started documentation.

Common problems and fixes
- YouTube is unavailable as a destination: connect YouTube to Talk Studio, then return to the schedule form. If YouTube is new to your account, complete any required verification or initial live setup in YouTube Studio.
- The file will not upload or schedule: check its size and duration against the current limits for your Talk Studio plan. The scheduling guide lists 5 GB maximum, one hour on Standard, and two hours on Pro or Ultra.
- The upload is slow or stalls: confirm you are using Chrome or Safari and check the connection’s upload speed and stability. Streamlabs’ guide recommends at least 5 Mbps, with higher recommendations for 720p and 1080p.
- The event details or timing look wrong: recheck the selected YouTube destination, date, time, title, description, and thumbnail before scheduling. Verify the resulting event on YouTube.
