In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder stream, copy its server URL and stream key into the encoder, preview the incoming feed in Live Control Room, then start the encoder and go live. That sets up the broadcast destination; it does not by itself make playback repeat or establish that YouTube permits every continuously looping format.
Before you set up the stream
Check channel eligibility
YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and creators must be at least 16. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements and make sure live streaming is enabled before preparing the broadcast.
Clear the rights to everything in the recording
Being prerecorded or focused on an unboxing does not remove copyright obligations. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Check rights for the unboxing footage, product clips, background music, graphics and any other included material.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, and continued use may interrupt or terminate it. Even if you have a license, the stream may be interrupted when the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams; if licensed material is involved, ask the owner about its allowlist process.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up a prerecorded unboxing broadcast
- Create the destination in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions to create or schedule a live stream using an encoder-compatible setup. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Enter the destination in your encoder. Paste the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: it is the credential that directs your encoder to your YouTube stream. Do not share it publicly.
- Load the recording as the encoder’s outgoing video. Use software or hardware capable of playing or ingesting the unboxing file and sending that playback as a live feed. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain the destination and stream-key setup, not a specific file player or repeat-playback procedure. Confirm that your encoder can keep the file playing and transmitting for the duration you intend.
- Choose a delivery protocol and configure the encoder. Prefer RTMPS if your encoder supports it; YouTube describes it as an encrypted extension of RTMP. For general encoder settings, YouTube lists constant bitrate (CBR), recommends a two-second keyframe frequency and says not to exceed four seconds. Choose a bitrate from YouTube’s current resolution-specific recommendations and confirm it is supported by your encoder and upload connection; there is no single bitrate appropriate for every resolution and connection. See RTMPS setup and YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.
- Preview before going live. Start the encoder’s output and check the incoming picture and sound in YouTube Live Control Room. Correct any playback, audio or connection issue before starting the public broadcast.
- Start and monitor the broadcast. When the preview is ready, use YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room to go live. YouTube recommends continuously monitoring audio and video quality; keep an eye on the broadcast and be prepared to respond to interruptions. Its guidance does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or provide a complete 24/7 loop recipe. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
Choose software or hardware encoding
| Approach | When it fits | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder | You already have a computer and software that can play the recording while sending the stream. | YouTube says software encoding is an option and expensive equipment is not necessary to get started. The computer and playback setup must remain capable of running the broadcast. |
| Professional-grade hardware encoder | You have higher production requirements or an established hardware workflow. | YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events, but does not say one is mandatory for prerecorded unboxings. |
These are the options described in YouTube’s live-streaming tips and its encoder setup guidance. Choose based on equipment you already own, production needs, reliability requirements and budget; no specific encoder model or computer endurance has been established here.
What “continuously” means for a YouTube stream
YouTube’s encoder help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That is an archive statement, not evidence that a single stream can run continuously for 24 hours or how a longer broadcast behaves. For an around-the-clock presentation, plan how you will manage stream sessions and archives separately rather than assuming one broadcast will run and archive indefinitely.

The reviewed official YouTube pages do not explicitly say whether a continuously repeated prerecorded video loop is permitted as a format. They also do not provide a complete 24/7 loop procedure. Check YouTube’s current policies for your particular format, and do not treat the absence of a specific prohibition or approval in these encoder pages as a ruling.
Protocol choice: RTMPS or HLS
- RTMPS: YouTube recommends it for encrypted delivery. Use it when your encoder supports it.
- HLS: YouTube also supports HLS for certain capabilities and codecs. YouTube notes that HLS has higher latency than RTMP, so check encoder compatibility and whether that trade-off suits your broadcast.
See YouTube’s pages on RTMPS encryption and encoder settings and protocols for current details.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- No video appears in Live Control Room: Check that the encoder is sending output, the correct server URL and stream key are entered, and the encoder is playing the file rather than waiting for a live camera source.
- Picture or sound is wrong in the preview: Check the file playback and the encoder’s audio/video input and output settings before going live. YouTube recommends monitoring both audio and video quality.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright match: Review the content in question and the rights you hold. If a license applies, contact the rights owner about allowlisting your channel through Content ID; licensing alone may not prevent a live interruption.
- You expect the archive to cover a full day: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. Do not infer a longer archive guarantee from that statement; plan stream sessions and archive handling separately.
- Your encoder does not accept the selected protocol or settings: Confirm the encoder supports the chosen protocol, resolution and bitrate. Check YouTube’s current resolution-specific recommendations and encoder capabilities rather than forcing a generic bitrate.
