Yes: you can send a playlist of recorded Sanskrit shlokas to YouTube Live through an encoder, either on a computer that stays on or through a cloud service. First enable and verify live streaming at least 24 hours ahead if this is your first broadcast, test the feed as unlisted, and confirm you have permission for the actual recordings and accompanying music. An encoder workflow makes continuous playback technically possible; it is not blanket advance approval for every prerecorded 24/7 stream.
How the 24/7 shloka stream works
An encoder takes prerecorded video and audio and sends them to YouTube as a live feed. You can run that encoder locally, using a computer to play the files and send the stream, or use a cloud encoder that runs remotely. YouTube for Artists describes encoder streaming as offering more customization and control than a basic mobile or webcam stream; see its YouTube for Artists resource. A continuous prerecorded broadcast still has to comply with YouTube’s applicable channel rules. The available platform guidance does not guarantee that every such broadcast will be approved or say that all are prohibited.
For a local setup, the computer and its connection must remain available while it sends the feed. A cloud workflow avoids needing your home computer to stay on. Compare options by device requirements, playlist and file handling, current workflow and reliability details, and total price; these vary by provider, and no general minimum hardware, upload speed, or service guarantee is established here.
Prepare the channel, recordings, and playlist
Enable live streaming in advance
If you have not streamed before, YouTube for Artists advises enabling live streaming and verifying the account at least 24 hours before you plan to go live. Check your channel’s access to live streaming before preparing a public event. Use YouTube’s current Live Control Room instructions for the channel setup and event controls.

Check rights for the actual audio and video
Make sure you are authorized to broadcast each recording, performance, arrangement, and any backing music in your playlist. A shloka’s traditional or devotional nature does not establish that a particular recording is cleared. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content; a match can result in a placeholder and warning, interruption, termination, or a strike. YouTube says a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist even if you have a license. Its copyright guidance for live streams explains the matching and enforcement process.
YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” See its official creator resource for that guidance. Keep relevant permissions and correspondence accessible, and resolve any Content ID allowlisting with the rights holder before the public stream.

Build and check the playback order
Arrange the recitations in the order you want viewers to hear them, and make sure the selected encoder or service can loop the sequence as intended. Test every file’s audio and video, including transitions and any silence or gaps you do not want. The encoder’s supported input formats depend on its implementation; YouTube’s DASH technical documentation gives examples such as MP4 with H.264/AAC and WebM with VP8 or VP9 and Vorbis or Opus. Most creators should follow their encoder’s supported workflow rather than manually configure DASH.
Start and test the YouTube Live feed
- Create the live event: In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule the stream and set its visibility for testing. Follow the current on-screen instructions for the event and encoder connection.
- Connect the encoder: Enter the event’s stream key in the encoder or cloud service according to its instructions. Treat the key like a password: do not post it publicly or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Run an unlisted test: YouTube for Artists recommends testing an unlisted stream before the planned go-live date. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed, the audio is clear, the video appears correctly, and the playlist plays in the right order.
- Go public and monitor: When the test is satisfactory, switch to the intended public event or start the planned public broadcast. Watch for YouTube notices, Content ID matches, or interruptions and respond to them rather than assuming the feed will remain uninterrupted.
For encoder integrations, YouTube’s DASH ingestion documentation describes technical ingest behavior and example formats. It is primarily for encoder implementations, not a requirement that ordinary creators set up DASH manually.

Choose where the encoder runs
| Option | What it means | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Local computer | Your computer runs the encoder, plays the playlist, and sends the feed to YouTube. | The computer and its connection need to remain available for the broadcast. The setup guidance does not establish minimum computer specifications or upload speed. |
| Cloud encoder | A remote service runs the media feed and sends it to YouTube. | Your local computer does not have to stay on, but compare each provider’s current workflow, media handling, reliability information, and price. No general provider uptime or price comparison is established here. |
Copyright, policy, and audience considerations
YouTube’s live-stream restrictions include copyright and Community Guidelines enforcement. A stream may be interrupted or terminated for a copyright match or strike, or for other platform-policy reasons. If your material is licensed, permission from the owner and Content ID allowlisting are separate practical issues: YouTube notes that a license alone may not prevent an automated interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted by the rights holder.
Some features are limited when content is set as made for kids, including live chat and personalized ads. Whether that setting applies depends on the channel’s audience determination and content; do not assume that a Sanskrit recitation automatically belongs in either category. Review YouTube’s live-streaming restrictions when configuring the channel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I stream a playlist of shlokas rather than one long recording?
Yes. Use an encoder or cloud workflow that supports a playlist and looping, then verify playback order and transitions in an unlisted test.
Does using a devotional or traditional text automatically clear the recording?
No. Check rights for the particular recording, performance, arrangement, and backing music; the text’s nature does not establish permission for a recording.
