Start with the game listing, not a streaming subscription

- Open the named service. A game listed for a broadcast network may require that network’s own live-streaming route; a game listed for a streaming service opens there instead.
- Check blackout information before tipoff. If League Pass is listed but your location is restricted, the schedule and blackout tools point you toward the distributor carrying the live game.
This process matters because a 2026 game can be live on a broadcast network, a network-owned streaming service, a digital service, or League Pass. The answer for one matchup does not automatically apply to the next.

Where the 2026 WNBA national games are distributed
The WNBA’s April 22, 2026 schedule announcement lists 216 nationally distributed games. The table below covers that season only; future schedules can change the partners, assignments, and counts.

The same announcement describes a 330-game regular season across 15 teams, with 44 games per team. It also summarizes 30 games on Disney networks, corresponding to the 13 ABC broadcasts and 17 ESPN games listed above. These figures describe the 2026 season and should not be reused for a later year without checking that year’s schedule.
Choose the viewing route that matches your goal
One particular game
Use the schedule’s watch listing and follow the named outlet. This is the most dependable approach when you care about a single matchup because it accounts for national assignments and local distribution. If the listing points to ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock/NBCSN, Prime Video, CBS/Paramount+, ION, USA Network, or NBA TV, open that outlet’s supported streaming path rather than assuming League Pass will carry the live feed.
As many out-of-market games as possible
League Pass is designed for eligible live games, next-day access to every matchup, full-length replays, and an archive of classic games. It is particularly useful when you follow teams outside your local market or want to watch replays on your own schedule. It is not an all-games-live pass for U.S. viewers: national and local blackouts remove certain live broadcasts.
Replays and games you missed
League Pass provides full-length replays of every game. In the United States, a nationally blacked-out game appears on League Pass at 6 a.m. Eastern Time the following day. A locally blacked-out game becomes available shortly after the game concludes. That timing makes League Pass a strong replay service even when it cannot show a particular matchup live.

Watching on a television without a cable box
The WNBA lists Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV among supported League Pass platforms, in addition to web and mobile viewing. Install the WNBA app or the applicable League Pass app on the device, sign in with the account that purchased the subscription, and select the game. The streaming device itself does not include League Pass and does not change broadcast rights or blackout rules.
How League Pass blackouts work in the United States
Blackouts exist because local and national content providers have exclusive rights to televise certain live games. The WNBA’s U.S. blackout exclusions include nationally televised games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video. Local broadcasts of your team or teams can also be unavailable live through League Pass.
National blackouts
If a game is assigned to one of the nationally exclusive outlets above, League Pass may show an unavailable or restricted live feed even though the game is included in the season schedule. The U.S. version becomes available at 6 a.m. ET the next day for a nationally blacked-out game.
Local blackouts
A local broadcast of a team in your market can be blocked live on League Pass. The local restriction is lifted shortly after the final buzzer, after which the game is available for viewing in the service.
Location determines the result
The WNBA determines your viewing location from the device’s IP address or enabled location services. In the United States, your ZIP code is used to determine which local teams are subject to a blackout. If you travel or your detected location changes, the local restrictions can change as well.

Check before you buy or tip off
Use the WNBA blackout or packages page and enter your ZIP code. This is the official way to see which local restrictions apply to your home area. A plan that works for a viewer in one ZIP code may not provide the same live access in another.

The WNBA product page displayed an annual League Pass price of $39.99 on October 13, 2026. That is a dated observation for the 2026 product, not a permanent price promise; confirm the current amount, plan availability, renewal language, and cancellation terms at checkout.
- Select live games, subject to national and local exclusions.
- Next-day access to every matchup.
- Full-length replays of every game.
- Hundreds of classic games in the archive.
- Enhanced playback controls.
- Up to three simultaneous devices.
- Viewing on web, mobile, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV.
Those features describe the League Pass service. They do not grant rights to games excluded by a blackout, and they do not make a broadcast-network subscription unnecessary for a nationally exclusive live game.
Buying League Pass through Amazon is a separate account route
Fans can purchase League Pass through Amazon Prime on monthly or annual terms where the option is available in the United States and listed international markets. A subscription bought as a Prime Video Channel is usable only through Amazon’s website and apps. It cannot be used to sign in to the WNBA app or WNBA.com.
Use the Amazon route when you want Amazon-only access
If you already manage subscriptions in Prime Video and prefer to watch there, the Amazon channel can keep the subscription inside that ecosystem. Confirm that the League Pass channel is offered to your account and review its billing terms before purchasing.

Use the WNBA route when you need WNBA-app access
If you want to watch through the WNBA app, WNBA.com, or a League Pass login managed directly by the league, purchase through the WNBA’s own checkout instead. Do not expect an Amazon-purchased subscription to transfer between the two account systems.

Watching after a blackout
- For a national blackout, wait until 6 a.m. ET the following day.
- For a local blackout, wait until shortly after the game ends.

A blackout message does not necessarily mean the game is unavailable. It means the live rights are assigned elsewhere or the local broadcast is protected. Follow this sequence:

- Read the schedule’s outlet. Open the named national service or look for the local broadcast station, regional sports network, or national distributor identified by the WNBA.
- Verify your ZIP code. Use the official packages or blackout lookup to confirm which local teams are restricted where you are.
- Check the timing. Nationally restricted games appear at 6 a.m. ET the next day; locally restricted games appear shortly after the conclusion.
- Recheck if you moved. Because location is determined from IP address or location services, a travel location can produce a different result.
How to compare services without overpaying
Compare each route on five practical questions rather than on a headline channel count:
- Live coverage: Is the specific game live, or does the service provide a replay later?
- Local availability: Is your team’s broadcast blacked out in your ZIP code?
- Platform access: Does the subscription work in the app or website you intend to use?
- Device compatibility: Can you watch on your television, phone, tablet, or browser?
- Price and renewal: What is the current charge, billing frequency, renewal behavior, and cancellation policy at purchase?
The official 2026 information establishes League Pass’s features and the national distribution map, but it does not provide a complete, current price comparison for every third-party live-TV bundle. Buying through Amazon and trying to sign in elsewhere
Prime Video Channels subscriptions stay in Amazon’s apps and website. They do not authenticate the WNBA app or WNBA.com.
Assuming a streaming device bypasses rights restrictions
Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV are supported playback platforms, not alternate rights packages. Installing the app does not remove a blackout.
