Platinum Bar: one placement, immediate full Trust
A single Platinum Bar is the fastest encounter route if you already have one. The guides report that it supplies all 100 Trust at once, so you do not need to wait through multiple feeding increments.

Placement is a practical observation task rather than a second puzzle. Watch for the point where the eagle descends, then move the Sotdae of Bond into that route if necessary. Ordinary birds can consume food intended for the encounter, so an unattended feeder can waste part of your supply before the Iron Eagle lands. Clear competing bait first and keep the camera on the flight area while you wait.

With a Platinum Bar
The Platinum route should take the Trust value to 100 after the eagle consumes the bar. Wait for the feeding animation and the Trust display to finish updating before approaching.
With Mercury
Feed the eagle the 20 Mercury pieces. At the reported rate of 5 Trust per piece, the total reaches 100 after the final piece. Do not walk up during the sequence and assume that the interaction is complete; confirm the displayed Trust value first.
Use “Take in” at 100 Trust
- Wait until the Iron Eagle has finished eating and the Trust value shows 100.
- Approach the bird without attacking it.
- Select “Take in.”
That final interaction registers the Iron Eagle as your pet. If “Take in” does not appear, check that the bird—not another animal—consumed the bait, that Trust has reached exactly 100, and that you did not break the encounter by attacking it.
Trust is the progress indicator for this interaction. The important checkpoints are not the number of landings but the final value of 100 and the completed feeding animation. With Mercury, the guide-reported five Trust per piece gives a straightforward count; with Platinum, one bar is reported to fill the meter at once. The eagle will not land
Move the Sotdae of Bond to a point on the bird’s observed flight path. The eagle can pass over the ruins before coming down, so repositioning is more useful than repeatedly activating the mechanism. Make sure the feeder is actually loaded and that ordinary bait is not drawing other birds first.

Trust stops below 100
Count the bait you supplied. The Platinum route requires one full bar; the Mercury route requires 20 pieces at the guide-reported rate of 5 Trust each. If ordinary birds consumed part of the offering, clear the feeder and restore the intended bait before waiting for the Iron Eagle.
The encounter broke after an attack
