Open chat and enter /teleport <player-to-move> <your-player-name>. Put the other player first and your own name second. For example, if the other player is Alex and you are Steve, enter /teleport Alex Steve.
Enter the player names in this order
- Open chat and type
/teleport. - Add the name of the player you want to move, then your own player name:
/teleport Alex Steve. - Send the command. The first name is the target; the second is the destination. Minecraft documents the command as
/teleport [target player] <destination>in its command guide. Mojang’s Java snapshot notes also show the victim-to-entity argument order: Snapshot 18W02A.
Replace Alex and Steve with the actual player names. If the command is rejected, use the in-game autocomplete to check the arguments accepted by your edition and version; the official guide notes that commands can autocomplete arguments.
Make sure commands are available
Java singleplayer
Enable Allow Commands when creating the world, or later in World Options.
Bedrock singleplayer
In the Game tab of settings, enable Allow Cheats. Be aware that enabling cheats permanently stops players from unlocking achievements in that world, even if you later turn cheats off.

Multiplayer
You need sufficient permission to run the command. If you are on someone else’s server or Realm and do not have access, ask its owner or administrator.

If the teleport command fails
- Check that you did not reverse the names: the player to move goes first and the destination player goes second.
- In singleplayer, confirm that commands are enabled using the setting for your edition.
- In multiplayer, confirm that your account has permission to use commands.
- Use chat autocomplete if the syntax or accepted player-name arguments differ in your edition or version.
