On PC, open Skyrim’s console with the tilde key (~) and enter coc <cell name> to teleport to a location cell. To teleport to an NPC, use player.moveto <reference ID>. To bring an NPC to you, select the NPC in the console and enter moveto player. These console commands are not a method for Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch.
Choose the command for where you want to go

Teleport to a location on PC
- Make a separate manual save before experimenting, particularly before visiting an unfamiliar cell.
- Press
~on your keyboard to open the console. Bethesda Support documents the tilde key for opening it; the physical key label may vary by keyboard layout. See Bethesda’s console support instructions. - Enter
coc <cell name>, replacing the placeholder with a valid cell name, then press Enter. The command reference says this places the Dragonborn at the cell’s center. - If you need to find commands, type
helpin the console, as Bethesda Support recommends.
The identifier matters: a location’s display name may not be its cell name. Bethesda’s documented in-game starting point for command help is help; location codes are commonly consulted in a command reference. The sources do not establish a single location code that works universally across every edition or mod setup.

Teleport to an NPC or bring one to you
Move yourself to an NPC
Enter player.moveto <reference ID>, substituting the NPC’s reference ID. Reference IDs identify specific game objects, so a character’s display name alone may not be enough. The command reference warns that targeting a dead NPC can take you to the Dead Body Cleanup Cell instead of the character.
Move an NPC to your position
Open the console, click the NPC so the character is selected, then enter moveto player. This is the reverse of player.moveto: it moves the selected NPC to you rather than moving you to them.

Does teleporting work on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch?
The console commands described here are presented as PC-only by the reviewed command listing and GameFAQs’ PC command listing. Do not enter this syntax as a console-command method on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch. On those platforms, use Skyrim’s regular in-game fast travel where available; its rules are separate from the console commands covered here.

Bethesda Support’s article about a Developer Mode warning says activating a console command with ~ puts the game into Developer Mode and flags further save progress as developer-only. The article does not establish that this behavior applies identically to every Skyrim release or platform, so treat it as Bethesda’s warning rather than a universal achievement rule. If preserving a clean save matters, make a separate manual save before using the console.
