How do I throw a touch pass in College Football 26?
- Identify the receiver you want to target and the icon shown for that player.
- Briefly hold that receiver’s button.
- Release the button to throw the touch pass.
There is no separate dedicated touch-pass button in EA’s general instructions: the pass type comes from how long you press the target receiver’s button. Button labels vary by player and platform. EA provides separate PlayStation and Xbox College Football 26 control references.
How long do I hold the receiver button?
EA’s guide says to briefly hold the button and release it, but does not publish a universal duration in frames or milliseconds. The timing threshold is not specified for each passing type setting, so a precise hold time should not be treated as an official rule.
Operation Sports describes a rough half-second press and releasing when the receiver icon turns blue. That is advice from a third-party guide, not an EA-published timing specification; use it as a possible starting point rather than a guaranteed or mode-independent threshold. When should I use a touch pass instead of a bullet or lob?
Choose the trajectory to suit the route and coverage. EA describes the touch pass as adding enough arc to drop the ball into space, making it a middle option between the faster bullet and the higher lob.

These are situational choices, not guarantees against an interception. EA also recommends directional pass leading: hold the left stick toward the space where you want the receiver to go while throwing.

Do passing settings change touch-pass timing?
EA lists four Passing Type settings: Placement, Placement & Accuracy, Classic Passing, and Revamped Passing. EA says they involve different accuracy and timing demands, but its general passing guidance does not state a touch-pass-specific timing threshold for any of them. Avoid assuming that one exact hold duration works identically across every setting.
