For simple Steam-only sale alerts, add games to your Steam wishlist and enable email or mobile notifications. To see how a price compares with past Steam prices, use SteamDB; for more configurable deal alerts, add games to IsThereAnyDeal’s Waitlist or import your Steam wishlist. Before buying, check the price’s currency, region, and history window: a tracker’s displayed low is not automatically an all-time low, and past discounts cannot predict the next one.
Set up Steam wishlist notifications
Steam can notify you when wishlisted titles go on sale as Daily Deals, Midweek Deals, or Weekend Deals. Add a game to your wishlist, then check your account’s email preferences and Steam mobile-app notification settings to make sure the alerts you want are enabled. These alerts are useful, but they are not a promise of an instant notification for every discount. Valve’s Steamworks wishlist documentation describes a qualifying promotional discount as at least 20%, applying to the lowest-priced package, and lasting more than eight hours. It also says notifications may take hours, email delivery requires a verified address, and user preferences affect receipt. Product-specific cooldowns—documented as about two weeks and potentially longer during high-volume periods—can also apply. These are current documented platform conditions, not a guarantee that every user will receive an alert at a particular time.
Check a game’s Steam price history with SteamDB
- Search for the game on SteamDB and open its Prices tab.
- Review the chart or table for the relevant package and currency, rather than relying on a single low-price label.
- Create a SteamDB account to use its watchlist, or manually import your Steam wishlist. SteamDB also offers an extension that can show lowest-recorded-price information on Steam store pages.
SteamDB says it records price changes as Steam updates prices and detects changes within minutes. It describes its history as covering all 41 Steam currencies, with data dating to 2012; that broad scope does not mean every game has a complete history in every currency. Configure alerts with IsThereAnyDeal
- Open IsThereAnyDeal and add games individually to its Waitlist, or import your Steam wishlist.
- Review the service’s notification Rules and email setup.
- Choose rules that fit your buying threshold, then check the game’s price history when an alert arrives.
IsThereAnyDeal says its rules can filter notifications according to your preferences, and its game pages include price history. Store coverage and settings can change, so verify the current options on the service. Its Welcome page describes the Waitlist, Steam import, rules, and history features.

Decide whether an alert is a good deal
Set a personal decision rule before a notification arrives. For example, choose a maximum price you are willing to pay, or a minimum discount that would make you buy. Then compare the alert with the game’s earlier prices for the same currency and region, and check how far back the tracker’s records go.

A low shown by one tracker may mean only the lowest price that tracker captured during its recording window. Steam Dashboard explicitly describes its displayed low that way; its tracked-game page said prices were recorded through October 6, 2026. Treat that label as a window-specific comparison, not proof of an all-time low. SteamDB’s broad currency and historical coverage is useful context, but the individual game’s records still matter. See Steam Dashboard’s tracked-game pages for its stated limitation.
No price tracker can tell you what a publisher will charge in a future sale. SteamDB says publishers choose discounts and that it does not know which games or prices will be discounted in an upcoming sale. Historical patterns can help you judge an offer, but they cannot guarantee the next one.
