What is actually confirmed about AION 2 trading?
The most important distinction is between what NCSOFT has officially described and what players commonly call it. In its August 12, 2025 announcement, NCSOFT producer Namjoon Kim said: “The Trade system enables players to exchange items using in-game currency instead of premium currency. After careful consideration, we designed this system to offer the most enjoyable experience for players.” The announcement does not name that currency “Diamonds.”

Therefore, a safe description of the feature is item trading for the game’s in-game currency. “Diamonds” may be a player shorthand, a term used in another version, or a label that changed between builds, but the Global evidence available here does not establish it as the current official name. Check the currency label shown in your own client rather than assuming that a currency icon or community term is authoritative.

A second issue is the route used to exchange items. A September 20, 2026 report from Aion Strategies says direct player-to-player trading was disabled after the Launch Scale Test as an anti-bot measure. The report describes the Market as the intended central place for player exchanges. That is secondary reporting, not a complete set of current official instructions. The live Global client, patch notes, and support notices take priority if they differ.
Trade, Market and RMT are three different things

This distinction prevents two common mistakes: treating a community name as an official currency specification, and treating an unofficial cash deal as an ordinary sale.
How to sell an item through the current Market
The exact Global interface, account requirements and listing limits have not been established by the sources available for this guide. Do not rely on a remembered test-server menu or a guide from another region. Use the following verification process with the current client.

If the feature is unavailable, check the latest official announcement before attempting another method.
- Inspect the item itself. Look for its trade, binding or Market restriction in the item details. An item that can be equipped, crafted or transferred is not automatically eligible for listing. The reviewed Global material does not provide a complete item-by-item eligibility list.
- Check the currency label. Record the exact in-game currency name and icon shown in the listing window. Do not write “Diamonds” in a sale plan unless your current official client uses that term.
- Review the listing information before confirming. Confirm the quantity, unit price, total amount and any warning about binding, expiration, tax or cancellation. No current official source reviewed here establishes the fee, duration or limit, so never assume those values.
- Confirm only inside the game. Complete the listing through the authorized Market confirmation screen. Never send an item first because another player promises payment later, and never move the conversation to a cash or service arrangement.
- Check the result using the client’s own records. Look for the Market’s current transaction, mailbox or proceeds area, if your version provides one. The available evidence does not establish the exact collection path, so follow the labels and help text in your build rather than an old screenshot.
If an item is rejected, read the reason exactly. A rejection may indicate that the item is bound, restricted to a character or account, outside the Market’s supported category, or temporarily blocked by a rule change. Do not try to bypass the restriction by advertising the item elsewhere; that can create both account-security and policy problems.
What “Diamonds” could mean—and how to verify it
The title’s wording reflects a real search question, but the official announcement reviewed for AION 2 does not use “Diamonds.” It specifically contrasts in-game currency with premium currency. That leaves three possibilities:

- “Diamonds” is the correct current Global name but was not included in the announcement.
- “Diamonds” is a community term or a name from a different regional version.
- The currency name changed during development or between test and launch builds.
Only the first possibility can justify calling the currency Diamonds in an instruction. To verify it, compare the name in the Market’s price field, your wallet display and the current official support text. If those sources use another name, use that name. If they do not name the currency clearly, describe it as in-game currency instead of guessing.
Can you still trade directly with another character?
Do not assume that a face-to-face trade window exists. Aion Strategies reported on September 20, 2026 that direct player-to-player trading had been disabled after the Launch Scale Test to fight bots, with the Market positioned as the central player exchange. The report also did not establish every access or listing detail.
That means an older video showing one character handing an item to another may describe a test build or an earlier rule set. If your client has no direct-trade option, that is consistent with the reported change; use the Market if it is available. If a later official notice restores or changes direct trading, follow that notice and its restrictions rather than relying on this report.
Which items can be listed?
No complete Global item-eligibility catalogue was established in the available official material. Treat eligibility as an item-level question, not a general promise that all loot is sellable.
Check binding and ownership restrictions
Before planning a sale, inspect whether the item is bound on pickup, bound when equipped, character-bound, account-bound or otherwise marked as non-tradable. The wording and symbols in your client control. If the item details do not clearly permit trading, do not assume that the Market will accept it.

Check category and quantity rules
Some Markets separate equipment, materials, consumables or other categories, and an item may be restricted even when similar items are accepted. Confirm the category offered by the current listing screen. Also check whether the interface treats a stack as one listing or allows a selected quantity; the available sources do not document the current behavior.

Rules can differ between regions and between test and launch builds. A list from a Korean, test or pre-launch client is not proof of Global eligibility. Use the item tooltip and current Global notices for the character and server on which you are playing.
How to choose a listing price without misleading yourself
Independent market data can help you see what is being displayed, but it cannot prove what buyers actually paid. AION2 Market’s transparency note says its European catalogue contained 1,691 tradable item records and that 8,182 item pages were checked against the official Global EU catalogue on October 5, 2026. Those are the catalogue’s own dataset figures, not official NCSOFT statistics. The site says its coverage is partial and that displayed figures are observed listings rather than completed sales or real-time prices.
Use an observed listing as a reference point, not as a guaranteed sale price. A listing can remain unsold, be cancelled, expire, change while you are looking at it, or represent a quantity and condition different from yours. There is no independently established figure here for average prices, sale success, earnings or turnover.
- Compare the same item, enhancement or quality state, not merely the same item name.
- Compare the same quantity and unit convention. A stack price and a per-item price are not interchangeable.
- Note the observation date and region. A European catalogue snapshot does not establish prices on every Global region or server.
- Check several current listings if the client allows it, then decide whether speed or a higher asking price matters more to you.
- Recheck the final total and any fee shown by the live Market before confirming. The current fee schedule is not established here.
What the available Market data can and cannot tell you

RMT: what you must not do
The AION 2 Global Operation Policy and the Global Support FAQ on real-money trading define a clear boundary: exchanging in-game items or currency for real money, goods or services is prohibited. The rule is broader than “do not complete the payment.” Participating, assisting, attempting or advertising RMT can be sanctionable.
- Do not sell an item for cash, cryptocurrency, gift cards or another payment outside the game.
- Do not trade currency for coaching, account services, boosting, hardware, subscriptions or other goods.
- Do not advertise a cash price in chat, a forum, a social post or a private message.
- Do not accept an in-game item from someone as payment for an outside service.
- Do not act as an intermediary or help another player arrange the exchange.
Stay inside the authorized in-game Market and use only its displayed in-game currency. If someone asks you to move the deal to another platform, that is a warning sign, not a faster version of the normal sale process.

The item is not searchable
Recheck the item’s binding and category status, then read the current Market help text. If the item is restricted, there is no legitimate workaround through direct messages or third-party listings. If the restriction looks like an error, use the official support channel rather than transferring the item to another character.
The Market or Trade button is missing
Do not infer an account requirement, membership tier or character-level gate from a different build. The reviewed sources do not establish those requirements. Check current official notices, server status and the client’s own feature explanation.
A listing appears far above or below other listings
First verify the unit, stack size, item quality and observation time. An independent catalogue records listings, not completed transactions. A dramatic price is not evidence that buyers are paying that amount.

Because direct trading was reported disabled after the test, treat claims about a private trade window cautiously. Ask the player to use the authorized current feature. Never hand over an item based on a promise of later payment.

You suspect a bot or an RMT solicitation
Do not negotiate. Preserve the relevant in-game details and use the reporting and support options available in your client. Continuing the conversation or advertising a counteroffer can create its own policy risk.
A practical pre-listing checklist
- Is this the current Global client and server?
- Does the current Market exist and accept your item category?
- Does the item tooltip explicitly allow trading or listing?
- Is the currency name confirmed by the client, rather than assumed to be Diamonds?
- Have you checked the displayed quantity, total and any fee or warning?
- Are you dealing only in in-game currency?
- Are you using the authorized Market instead of a private cash arrangement?
- Have you recorded the observation date if you are using third-party listing data?
