You can try the console’s standard save-data route, but a successful Metro Redux save transfer is not confirmed by the available official sources. On PS5, use Sony’s PS4-to-PS5 data-transfer process; on Xbox Series X|S, let your Xbox cloud save sync. Then open the same game edition and check your campaign progress. Keep the original save and console until you have verified it.
Transfer Metro Redux saves from PS4 to PS5
Metro Redux’s PS4 edition is listed by PlayStation as playable on PS5. Sony also provides a general route for transferring PS4 data, including saved data, to a PS5. These facts make the console-level transfer worth trying, but they do not confirm that a particular Metro Redux save will transfer or load.
- Prepare both consoles. Sign in to the same account on the PS4 and PS5, connect them to the same network, update their system software, and synchronize trophies on the PS4. Sony recommends these steps for data transfer.
- Start the transfer. During PS5 setup, follow the data-transfer prompts. If the PS5 is already set up, go to Settings > System > System Software > Data Transfer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Use the matching game edition. Launch the Metro Redux edition associated with the save. The cited information does not establish a separate native PS5 edition or a Metro Redux save-import feature.
- Check your campaign. Confirm that the expected Metro 2033 or Metro: Last Light progress appears. Do not erase the PS4 save or reset the source console until you have verified it.
Sony says saved data can be transferred for games playable on PS5, and its backward-compatibility guidance says the overwhelming majority of PS4 games can be played on PS5. Those are platform-level statements, not a Metro Redux-specific migration guarantee. Transfer Metro Redux saves from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S
Microsoft describes cloud saves across Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles, alongside backward compatibility for select Xbox One games. Its cited guidance does not name Metro Redux or confirm how that game handles saves.

- Sign in to the Xbox Series X|S with the account used on the Xbox One.
- Connect the console to the internet and allow any cloud save to sync before opening Metro Redux.
- Launch the same Metro Redux game edition and check whether your campaign progress is available.
Keep the Xbox One and its original save intact until you have checked the result on the new console. This is the general Xbox cloud-save route, not a verified promise that a Metro Redux save will load. Microsoft’s Xbox backward-compatibility and cloud-save information.
Do not apply Metro Exodus save rules to Metro Redux
Metro Redux bundles Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light; Metro Exodus is a separate game. The official Metro transfer instructions cited here describe the next-generation release of Metro Exodus, not Redux. They say Xbox One saves transfer chapter by chapter and that autosaves and mid-chapter saves do not carry over; they also describe no PlayStation save transfer for Exodus and mention chapter unlocks. If your progress does not appear
- Confirm you are signed in with the account that owns the original save.
- On PlayStation, check that the transfer completed and that you launched the matching game edition.
- On Xbox, leave the console online long enough for cloud synchronization, then check the game again.
- Keep the original console and save available. The cited official sources do not document a Metro Redux-specific recovery or import method if the platform-level route does not work.
