Both actions use Skill Count; fusion replaces its two component fighters with one fused character, and you cannot undo it during that battle.
How to transform
- Build Skill Count as you fight. The blue bar fills over time, and transformations spend Skill Count.
- Press Up during battle to display the Transformation Panel.
- Choose an available form by pressing the face button shown beside it.
Transformations improve the character’s statistics. The available forms and their assigned buttons are shown in the panel; the official guides do not give one universal transformation cost for every character.
How to fuse
- Make sure your team contains two characters who can fuse. If a compatible fusion is available, it will appear on the Fusion Panel.
- Press Up to open the Transformation Panel, then press Up + L1 or R1 to switch to the Fusion Panel. The official guide uses controller notation; the exact input label can vary by platform and control scheme.
- Press the face button assigned to the displayed fusion. Fusion also uses Skill Count.
After fusion, the two component characters are removed from the team-member screen and replaced by the fused fighter. The publisher says they cannot return to normal, so treat fusion as a one-way choice for that battle—not as a tag or ordinary character switch.
Transformation vs. fusion

Controls and Skill Count
Bandai Namco describes Standard and Classic control schemes, with Standard as the default reference in its beginner guide. Button prompts may differ by platform, scheme, or custom settings. If the panel’s displayed input does not match a controller label here, follow the in-game prompt and check the controls for your active scheme.

Skill Count charges over time as the blue bar fills and is used for moves that include transformation and fusion. The cited official guides do not establish a universal cost per character or per fusion, so use the in-game availability shown on the panel rather than assuming a fixed number.
