Throne and Liberty’s transmog system is called the Illusion Workshop. Convert eligible gear into an Illusion with Illusion Scrolls, then apply that appearance to your equipped gear in the Mirror Boutique. Conversion consumes the source item, so use gear you are willing to lose.
How to change your gear’s appearance
- Get Illusion Scrolls. The official feature announcement described obtaining them from the in-game shop with Lucent. Check the shop in your current game build for availability and current prices.
- Convert the appearance. In your inventory, select an eligible gear piece and choose the appearance-conversion option. This turns its look into an Illusion and removes the original item from your inventory. Do not convert gear you plan to keep.
- Apply the Illusion. Open the Mirror Boutique, go to the equipment appearance area, and select the Illusion for the appropriate equipped item.
- Change its color if you want. Use dye to recolor the Illusion. The Mirror Boutique also lets you revert its color to the default.
Amazon Game Studios explains the feature in its Illusion Workshop announcement and Update 2.8.0 notes.
What can you convert and apply?
The official April 2025 launch documentation said that only Epic-grade items could be converted. It also described these compatibility rules:
- Armor: An Illusion could be applied across armor weight classes, but it had to match the apparel slot.
- Weapons: The target weapon had to be the same weapon type as the Illusion’s source.
Those are launch-era rules, not confirmation of the current live build’s eligibility or compatibility. Check the item and Mirror Boutique options in-game before spending scrolls.

How many Illusion Scrolls does it take?
Amazon Game Studios’ April 2025 announcement listed the following launch-era costs. They are historical figures, not verified current prices:

Are Illusions shared across characters?
The official launch guide described Illusions as character-bound rather than account-bound. That is a launch-era ownership detail; check the current game’s item description if you need to know whether an Illusion can be used by another character.
