The timing is a useful clue, but it does not prove the driver caused the crash. Record the exact error and system details, make one change at a time, and retest after each step.
Record what happens before changing anything
Note where the crash occurs—launcher, splash screen, menu, match loading, or during play—and whether Siege closes to desktop or the whole PC becomes unstable. Copy the complete error text rather than paraphrasing it.
- GPU model and driver version, including the driver release date
- Windows version
- Launcher used and the point at which the crash occurs
- Whether other graphics-intensive applications are also affected
This information helps distinguish a graphics problem from a game-file or anti-cheat error. A crash happening after a driver update establishes timing, not cause.
Verify Rainbow Six Siege’s game files
Use the file verification or repair function in the launcher where you installed the game. Ubisoft says missing or corrupted dependency files can cause crashes or performance problems, and recommends verifying game files in its BattlEye troubleshooting guidance.

- Open the launcher’s library and select Rainbow Six Siege.
- Choose its file verification or repair option. The exact label and location depend on the launcher.
- Let the check finish, then launch the game once and note whether the crash point or error changes.
Verifying files is a sensible first repair attempt; it does not require reinstalling the entire game.
Use the error message to choose an anti-cheat fix
If the error names Ubisoft Anti-Cheat
Follow Ubisoft’s Ubisoft Anti-Cheat troubleshooting steps in the order shown. Ubisoft recommends verifying game files and repairing or reinstalling Ubisoft Anti-Cheat if its installation is corrupted. Retest after completing the relevant steps.

If the error names BattlEye
Use Ubisoft’s BattlEye FAQ for the specific error. Its guidance includes checking game-file integrity and whether security software is blocking BattlEye service executables. Do not apply old Windows build or update fixes just because they appear in older support material; follow the current instructions for the error you actually see.
Reinstall the graphics driver through its manufacturer
If the crash began with a driver change—or other graphics applications are failing too—use the official driver package for your exact GPU and Windows version. Avoid third-party driver-updater utilities. Driver steps differ by manufacturer, so do not assume that one driver version or cleanup method is right for every system.

AMD Radeon systems
AMD’s Radeon Software installation guidance recommends removing existing AMD graphics drivers before installing a new package. Its optional Clean Install attempts to remove detected AMD software and drivers and may help with some corrupted installations.
AMD cautions that Clean Install forces a reboot and prevents rolling back to the previous driver through Device Manager. Read the current AMD instructions before choosing it, particularly if you may need to return to your previous driver.

NVIDIA or Intel systems
For NVIDIA or Intel graphics, use the manufacturer’s current documentation for the driver package and its install, clean-install, or rollback options. If the issue clearly began on a specific driver, testing a compatible earlier official release can be reasonable; identify it for your exact GPU and check its release notes. No single version is established as a universal Siege fix.

Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege system requirements page lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 64-bit. At the time reflected in the listed requirements, Ubisoft’s recommended 1080p, 60 fps, High-preset tier names AMD RX 6600 (8 GB), Intel Arc A750 (8 GB), or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB), or better.

These are Ubisoft’s requirements for that performance tier, not evidence that a PC below it must crash or that a driver update is responsible. Check the live page for current requirements before drawing a compatibility conclusion.
Know what the symptoms can—and cannot—tell you

These clues help direct troubleshooting, but they are not an exhaustive list of causes or a ranking of how likely each one is. The available official guidance does not establish a current, universal Siege crash tied to a particular GPU driver release.
Escalate with details if the crash persists
Contact Ubisoft Support with the full error, Windows version, GPU model, driver version and release date, launcher, crash point, and the steps you tried and their results. For an unresolved BattlEye-specific launch issue, Ubisoft’s FAQ directs players to BattlEye support. Reporting what changed after each test makes it easier to narrow down the failure.
