On PS5, turn off trigger resistance separately under Settings > Accessories > Controller (General); set Trigger Effect Intensity to Off. You can also turn Vibration Intensity off there to disable controller vibration system-wide.
Turn off vibration in Hogwarts Legacy
- Open the menu from the chapter-selection screen or area map.
- Select Options, then Controls.
- Change the vibration setting.
Square Enix Support notes that a console-level vibration setting takes precedence: if vibration is disabled on the console, turning the game option on will not restore it. Square Enix Support: controller vibration.
Disable PS5 trigger effects separately
On PS5, controller vibration and trigger-effect resistance are separate settings. To disable both:
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings > Accessories.
- Select Controller (General).
- Set Vibration Intensity to Off to disable vibration.
- Set Trigger Effect Intensity to Off to disable supported games’ adaptive trigger resistance.
PlayStation lists these as distinct controls. Trigger effects apply only in games that support them. PlayStation Support: general controller settings on PS5 and PlayStation: customize your DualSense Edge controller.

Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
Keep console navigation haptics separate
Haptics used while navigating PS5 accessibility features are distinct from gameplay controller vibration. Changing a navigation-feedback option alone may therefore leave in-game feedback enabled. See PlayStation’s PS5 accessibility settings.

Start with the game’s Options > Controls vibration setting. Controller support on PC varies by game, and the available evidence does not establish one universal setting path for disabling trigger effects across controllers and launchers. If feedback continues, check the settings for the controller or launcher and the input mode in use; exact steps depend on that configuration. PlayStation’s PC gaming support notes that controller support can vary by game.
