In PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, open Settings > Sound > Voice, change voice chat from Mute to Push to Talk or Always, and choose whether to speak to teammates or everyone. With Push to Talk, hold the configured talk key while speaking; PUBG Support lists T as the default. PUBG Mobile uses a separate setup: allow microphone access for the app and select the intended microphone in its audio settings.
Turn on voice chat in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS
PUBG Support documents this menu path in its voice-chat setup article, updated December 21, 2017. Menu wording can vary by game version, but use the in-game sound and voice settings if the labels differ.
- Open Settings > Sound > Voice.
- Change the voice-chat mode from Mute to Push to Talk or Always.
- Choose the voice channel: Team Only for teammates, or the all-player channel if you want everyone to hear you. PUBG Support describes the choice as whether “everyone” or “just your team mates” can hear the chat. PUBG Support: How do I setup voice chat?
- If you selected Push to Talk, press and hold the configured talk key as you speak. PUBG Support lists T as the default, but check the in-game voice settings or key bindings if T does not work.
- Use the in-game microphone feedback to check whether the game is receiving your voice.
Choose how your mic transmits

| Always | Keeps voice transmission open rather than requiring a talk-key press. | You do not need to press a key, but your voice can transmit whenever the game picks it up. |
Voice mode and audience are separate choices: selecting Team Only does not itself turn the microphone on, and choosing Push to Talk does not decide who can hear you.
Turn on your mic in PUBG Mobile
Do not use the PC menu path for Mobile. The PUBG Mobile Help Center recommends allowing the game microphone access, turning up the volume, and selecting the microphone in the game’s audio settings. Permission labels differ between operating systems.

- In your device settings, allow PUBG Mobile to use the microphone.
- In PUBG Mobile’s audio settings, select the microphone you intend to use.
- Turn up the relevant volume and test voice chat in the game.

If PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS voice chat still does not work

- Confirm Push to Talk is being activated. If that mode is selected, press the configured key; T is PUBG Support’s documented default.
- Check in-game microphone feedback. If it does not respond to your voice, the game may not be receiving the microphone signal.
- Check the hardware. Make sure the microphone or headset is connected to the appropriate port and is not physically muted.
- Check input volume and mute controls. Raise the microphone volume and confirm it is not muted in the device or game controls.
- Check the computer’s volume mixer. Confirm the game and microphone are not muted or turned down there.
- If audio is poor rather than absent, PUBG Support notes that limited bandwidth, high CPU use, or a poor microphone connection may affect quality.
If these basic checks do not resolve the issue, contact PUBG Player Support and include a screenshot of any error. The same support page discusses firewall and network-port checks as later troubleshooting; avoid casually disabling a firewall, and verify current network requirements with support before changing firewall rules.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 42.1 patch notes, dated June 16, 2026, describe a voice-chat interface that appears when at least two players participate, shows who is speaking, and keeps your mute status visible. The notes also describe fixed Team Only and Push to Talk settings with hold-to-speak behavior in the limited-time PC Ally Duo mode.
