Unlock Field Mobility II through the AIC technology tree, then place two Zipline Towers to create a rideable route. Plan for level or downhill travel: the documented mechanic does not support uphill ziplines. Since published tower-distance and cost figures are only estimates, check the live client for placement range and material requirements.
How to unlock ziplines
Ziplines are gated by AIC progression. Find VR Simulator stations and complete tutorial missions to earn Factory Index points, then open the AIC Plan, choose Exploration, and unlock Field Mobility II. The official AIC communication describes simulations and AIC technology as part of factory progression, and notes that unlocking an AIC Factory Plan phase can unlock all simulations in that phase: Arknights: Endfield Team, AIC communication.
A community guide estimates the Field Mobility II requirement at 1,500–2,000 points, but labels the exact value as still to be confirmed at launch. Treat that figure as an estimate, not a fixed current cost; use the value shown in your client.
How to build a Zipline Tower route
- After unlocking Field Mobility II, open the AIC build menu. There is no verified universal keyboard or controller shortcut; follow the control prompt displayed in your client.
- Select Zipline Tower and place the first tower at a high or level starting point.
- Move to the intended endpoint and place a second tower. The documented guide says the game automatically connects the towers with a cable.
- Approach a tower and interact with it to ride the line.
Plan the route around terrain and repeat use
Choose a level or downhill path
Build downhill or across level ground. The documented placement guidance says an uphill route is not possible because traversal follows gravity.

Use towers to extend a useful route
For a longer journey, chain routes with additional towers. A community guide gives an approximate 100–120 m segment length, but this is an estimate rather than a confirmed live specification. Check the placement preview in your client instead of planning around that number.
Prioritize places you revisit
A tower route is most useful when it connects destinations you travel between repeatedly: resource nodes, outposts, quest areas, or a difficult canyon or water crossing. Before building, consider the elevation direction, terrain clearance, endpoint value, expected repeat use, tower count, and the materials and capacity shown in the client. No authoritative universal material cost, total capacity, or travel-time saving is established.

What changed in the official updates
In its November 1, 2025 developer communication, the Arknights: Endfield Team described Zipline Facilities as a way to traverse terrain, alongside Memo Beacons and Easy Stashes: Beta Test II: DEV Comm//02.
A March 2, 2026 official update reported that shared and personal ziplines now have distinct UI styles and that a mini-map appears while riding. It also removed the former restriction that facilities be built only in Core AIC Areas or Sub-PACs: facilities can now be constructed anywhere on the map using materials. - Versatile compatibility: supports Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One X/S consoles and PC Win10 and above (including the game platform Steam).
- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
The same update increased the Relay Tower connection range from 90 to 100 meters and Electric Pylon connection range from 40 to 50 meters. Those figures concern connection prompts, not zipline tower spacing; the update says maximum power-transmission distance did not change.

Why you may not be able to place a zipline
- Field Mobility II is still locked: continue AIC progression and check the Exploration branch in the AIC Plan.
- The route runs uphill: revise it to be level or downhill.
- The endpoint is too far away or obstructed: use the live placement preview and adjust the tower position, or add an intermediate tower for a longer route.
- You lack the required materials or capacity: check the current client’s displayed requirements; no universal authoritative cost figure is established.
- You are looking for an old area restriction: the March 2, 2026 update says facility construction is no longer confined to Core AIC Areas or Sub-PACs.
