Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo unlock an alternate costume in Street Fighter 6, first identify its tier and the specific character. Outfit 2 has traditionally been earned through World Tour or bought with Fighter Coins, although newer fighters may add a character-specific route such as Avatar Arcade. Outfit 3 follows separate rules: Capcom France says it is purchase-only and cannot be unlocked through World Tour. After the costume is owned, select the fighter at character select and choose the owned outfit from that character’s outfit options. Exact button prompts vary by platform, so follow the on-screen control hint.
Street Fighter 6 costume unlocks at a glance
Alternate costumes are divided into Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 tiers. They are not governed by one universal unlock rule, and a method that applies to a launch character may not be the method announced for a later fighter.

| Costume tier | Gameplay unlock route | Paid route | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outfit 2 | World Tour for characters covered by the established launch-era system; some newer characters may use a character-specific mode | Fighter Coins | Capcom’s May 31, 2023 announcement requires an online server connection to obtain the costume |
| Outfit 3 | Not available through World Tour, according to Capcom France | Purchase | Check the current store listing for the exact character, bundle and regional availability |
| Year 1–4 Ultimate Pass content | Not a separate gameplay unlock | Included in the relevant Ultimate Pass | The base game must be owned separately to use a pass |
The safest rule is to open the character’s current in-game information or the latest official announcement before spending time or money. Capcom’s announcement archive, for example, lists a different Outfit 2 option for Arjun than the original launch-era description.

World Tour: the established free route
Capcom’s official May 31, 2023 announcement says: “Unlock Outfit 2 for each character during your adventures in World Tour. Alternatively, Outfit 2 also can be purchased instantly with Fighter Coins.” That is the baseline route for characters whose current unlock screen still offers World Tour.
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning visuals and an all new battle system depicts the world of Street Fighter with unprecedented detail.
- For the first time ever, SF6 provides an ever evolving immersive storytelling experience that gives power to the player to create their own World Warrior and truly engage in the Street Fighter Universe
- SF6 provides the gold standard fighting experience for both casual and battle-tested pros can enjoy for years to come.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the international version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions. DLC content may not work unless using an EU Playstation account as stated this is an EU Import Region Free Version
In practical terms, play World Tour with the relevant master relationship and complete the requirements shown for that fighter. The announcement confirms World Tour as the mode but does not specify one universal gift, bond threshold or mission for every character. Requirements can differ, so use the objective displayed in your game rather than relying on a generic checklist.
- Enter World Tour from the main menu.
- Find the character who serves as the master for the costume you want and inspect that character’s current relationship or unlock objective.
- Complete the listed activities until the game confirms that the Outfit 2 reward has been obtained.
- Return to character select and verify that the outfit is available before leaving the mode.
World Tour progress is a play-based option, but the available evidence does not establish a universal number of hours, a single bond level or a guaranteed fastest route. Those details should not be assumed across the roster.
Character-specific routes for newer fighters
Later announcements can add a different unlock method. The official Street Fighter 6 announcement archive states that Arjun’s Outfit 2 can be earned by “maxing his Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or with Fighter Coins.” For Arjun, therefore, Avatar Arcade is an explicit gameplay route; World Tour should not be presented as the guaranteed method unless the current in-game screen also lists it.
To check a newer fighter:
- Open the fighter’s announcement or the costume information panel in your current game installation.
- Read the named mode and progress meter exactly as displayed. A gauge, challenge list or event requirement may replace the launch-era World Tour relationship objective.
- Complete that character-specific requirement, then confirm the unlock message.
Use the official Street Fighter 6 announcement archive for current character notices. The archive is more reliable for a newly added fighter than an old guide written for the 2023 roster.
Fighter Coins: the instant paid option
Fighter Coins are Capcom’s named paid alternative for Outfit 2. The 2023 announcement says the costume can be purchased instantly with Fighter Coins. It also states that an online server connection is required to obtain Outfit 2, so an offline launch or a disconnected console should not be expected to complete the transaction or entitlement check.
The sources do not establish one universal Fighter Coin price, regional price, discount schedule or cross-platform entitlement policy. Check the price and account shown in your own in-game store before buying. If the store does not show the character’s outfit, verify that you are viewing the correct costume tier and that the game has connected to its servers.
How to equip an owned costume
Once the outfit has been unlocked or purchased, equip it from the character-selection flow:
- Open the mode in which you want to play, such as Fighting Ground, Battle Hub or another mode that presents the fighter roster.
- At character select, highlight the desired character.
- Open that character’s outfit options and choose the owned Outfit 2 or Outfit 3 entry.
- Select the costume color if the game presents color choices, then confirm the character.
The exact button or key is platform-dependent. Use the control prompt shown at the bottom of the character-select screen rather than a universal PlayStation, Xbox, PC or Switch 2 instruction. Capcom’s official manual explains that outfit and color preferences can be read from the character-select screen when using compatible amiibo data, which confirms that this is the relevant selection stage: Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 manual.
A secondary demonstration also shows the outfit-selection flow, but it should be treated as a visual aid rather than a source for platform-specific controls: THE DIFFERENT NERD’s June 21, 2023 instructional video.

What changes when you switch modes?
The costume is selected when you choose the fighter, not by changing a universal character model setting in a separate menu. If you want to use the same outfit in Fighting Ground and Battle Hub, make the selection whenever that mode presents its roster and verify the preview before confirming. The general flow remains character, outfit, color and confirmation, while the exact prompt can differ with the device and control scheme.
If a character appears in a versus preview wearing the default look, that does not necessarily mean the alternate costume was lost. Highlight the fighter again and inspect the outfit entries. The important test is whether the owned Outfit 2 or Outfit 3 entry is available at character select.

Outfit 3 uses a different rule
Do not treat Outfit 3 as a later World Tour reward. Capcom France states that Outfit 3 costumes are purchase-only and cannot be unlocked through World Tour. If you are searching World Tour menus for an Outfit 3 objective, the absence of one is expected under that policy.
Before purchasing, open the listing for the exact fighter and confirm that it is Outfit 3 rather than Outfit 2. The tier names are easy to confuse, especially when a pass or store page lists both together. Outfit 3 availability, bundle contents and regional pricing can change, so rely on the current listing instead of an old screenshot or price quoted by a guide.
Capcom France’s explanation is available at the official Outfit 3 notice.
Can an Ultimate Pass include the costume?
Capcom Town Store lists the Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 Ultimate Passes as including Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes among their contents. A pass is a bundle entitlement, not a replacement for the game itself: the store says the base game must be purchased separately to use a Character or Ultimate Pass.

| You do not own the base game | Acquire the base game separately before expecting a pass entitlement to be usable |
| You are considering a pass for a newer fighter | Confirm the fighter and costume tier are included; do not infer inclusion from the pass year alone |

Choosing the right route
Use this order of checks before committing to a method:
- Identify the tier. Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 do not share the same rules.
- Identify the fighter. Read the character’s current unlock panel or announcement, especially for a recently added character.
- Check the gameplay route. World Tour is the established Outfit 2 route for applicable characters; Avatar Arcade is an official example for Arjun.
- Compare the paid alternatives. Fighter Coins can provide Outfit 2 immediately, while an Ultimate Pass may cover multiple costumes if its current contents match your target.
- Confirm connectivity. Outfit 2 acquisition through the announced process requires an online server connection.
- Use the character-select screen. Once ownership is confirmed, select the costume there rather than searching for a separate equipment menu.
No reliable universal figure establishes that World Tour is always faster or cheaper than Fighter Coins. Your choice depends on the character’s supported route, the amount of gameplay you want, whether you already own a relevant pass and the prices shown for your region.

- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Common mistakes and pitfalls
- Applying the launch rule to every fighter: World Tour is the original Outfit 2 explanation, not a promise that every later character uses it. Check the current announcement or in-game panel.
- Confusing tiers: Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 can appear near each other in store or pass descriptions, but Outfit 3 is not a World Tour unlock under Capcom France’s stated policy.
- Assuming a pass includes everything: A Year 1–4 label alone does not prove that a particular fighter’s costume is included. Read the listed contents.
- Trying to claim Outfit 2 offline: Capcom’s launch-era notice specifically requires an online server connection to obtain it.
- Following a button guide from another platform: Use your own character-select prompt; the same action can be mapped differently on PlayStation, Xbox, PC or Switch 2.
- Buying twice during a delayed entitlement: Reconnect, check the purchase history and let the game refresh before making another transaction.
Troubleshooting an outfit that does not appear
The costume is not listed after completing World Tour
- Confirm that the objective you completed was for the same character and costume tier.
- Check the current character information panel; a newer fighter may use Avatar Arcade or another named route instead of the launch-era World Tour process.
- Reconnect to the game’s online service. Capcom’s Outfit 2 announcement requires a server connection to obtain the costume.
- Return to character select and inspect the outfit list after the entitlement check completes.
You bought Outfit 2 but cannot equip it
- Make sure the purchase was completed on the account and platform currently running the game.
- Check that you are looking at Outfit 2, not an Outfit 3 listing or a color option.
- Reconnect and allow the game to refresh downloadable entitlements before reopening character select.
- If the item remains absent, use the platform’s purchase history and Capcom support process; do not buy a second copy while the first transaction is unresolved.
You are searching World Tour for Outfit 3
That search will not produce a gameplay objective under Capcom France’s stated policy. Outfit 3 is purchase-only, so check the relevant store or pass listing instead.
The button shown in a guide does not work
Controller prompts differ by platform, control scheme and screen. Highlight the character and follow the prompt displayed in your own character-select interface. A video recorded on another platform may show the same flow with a different button.

Is Outfit 2 free in Street Fighter 6?
For characters whose current information still offers the established route, World Tour is the play-based way to earn Outfit 2. Capcom also offers an instant Fighter Coin purchase. Because newer characters can have their own route, verify the fighter’s current panel instead of assuming World Tour applies.
Can I unlock Outfit 3 by raising a master’s bond?
Capcom France says Outfit 3 is purchase-only and cannot be unlocked through World Tour. A World Tour relationship objective therefore should not be expected to grant Outfit 3.
Does every character use World Tour for Outfit 2?
No universal promise should be made for the entire roster. The May 31, 2023 announcement describes World Tour for Outfit 2, while the official archive gives Arjun a specific Avatar Arcade Acquisition Gauge route. Check newer character notices.

Is World Tour faster or cheaper than Fighter Coins?
There is no universal time or regional price comparison established for every character. Compare the objective shown in your game, your available play time, any pass you already own and the current Fighter Coin price.
Why does my purchased outfit still look locked?
Check that you bought the intended tier, reconnect for the entitlement check, confirm the transaction on the correct account and reopen character select. If the item remains missing, contact Capcom or the platform store rather than purchasing it again.
