To unlock Reactor Implant in The First Descendant, complete Complete Reactor Enhancement Training, then finish Reactor Implant Training from the Descendant Instructor. After that, use the Workbench to implant Optimization Conditions from other Ultimate Tier Reactors into an Ultimate Tier Reactor. Nexon documented the unlock and core rules in Update 1.1.6 on October 30, 2024.
How to unlock Reactor Implant
- Complete the Complete Reactor Enhancement Training sub quest.
- Speak with the Descendant Instructor and complete Reactor Implant Training, which becomes available after the prerequisite quest.
- Once the training is complete, open the Workbench and select Reactor Implant.
Nexon’s Update 1.1.6 identifies these quests as the unlock path; it does not establish an additional campaign milestone in its feature notes. If the function is not available, check that both training quests are complete.
How to implant conditions
- At the Workbench, choose the Ultimate Tier Reactor you want to keep as the target.
- Choose other Ultimate Tier Reactors as implant materials. The operation consumes those donor reactors to implant their Optimization Conditions.
- Review the resulting conditions and keep the target that best suits the Descendant and setup you intend to use.
An Ultimate Tier Reactor can have up to three different Optimization Conditions. If you meet more than one condition, the Skill Power increase option applies only once; meeting multiple conditions does not multiply that increase. These limits and the donor-tier requirement are specified in Nexon’s October 2024 update notes.
Choose a reactor for your build
Reactor Implant changes Optimization Conditions; it does not replace the need to choose a reactor that supports the right skills. Nexon’s equipment guide explains that a reactor increases Descendant skill power and advises matching the reactor’s supported skill type to the Descendant’s skill types. Treat that supported skill type and the Optimization Condition as separate checks:

- Condition slots: Which conditions are useful together? Even if multiple conditions are met, Skill Power increase is applied only once.
- Donor cost: Are you willing to consume the other Ultimate Tier Reactors selected as materials?
The equipment guide was published for the Crossplay Open Beta in September 2023 and cautions that information could change at launch. Use it for the basic distinction between supported skill type and conditional bonus, not as a source for current bonus percentages or costs.
Reactor Implant is different from Reactor Enhancement
Both functions are associated with the Workbench, but they do different things: Reactor Implant transfers Optimization Conditions using other Ultimate Tier Reactors, while Reactor Enhancement improves a reactor. The older equipment guide describes enhancement using Ion Accelerators, with material amounts dependent on reactor tier and level. Its beta-era details do not establish today’s exact costs or limits, so check the current Workbench interface for those.

Where to get Ultimate Tier Reactors
Mission rewards are one documented source. Nexon’s Update 1.3.0 notes from 2025 list Ultimate reactor rewards for specific missions and describe increased reactor reward quantities in some content. Those dated examples do not confirm which missions offer a particular reactor in October 2026. Check the current mission reward display in game before farming, and avoid consuming a reactor you may want to keep as a target or use in another build.
