To unlock and call in the M-102 Gunner FRV in Helldivers 2, purchase its permit in the Hangar at the Patriotic Administration Center, then equip it in your mission stratagem loadout. The current community-maintained listing says it requires level 25 and 25,000 Requisition Slips. During a mission, the driver steers and selects gears, a squadmate can operate the rear machine gun, and passengers can lean out to use their weapons.
How to unlock the M-102 Gunner FRV
- On your Super Destroyer, open the Patriotic Administration Center and go to the Hangar.
- Find the M-102 Gunner FRV permit and purchase it. Helldivers Wiki.gg currently lists the requirement as level 25 and 25,000 Requisition Slips. This is community-maintained information, so check the live game menu in case the requirement or price has changed.
- Before deploying, add the M-102 to your mission stratagem loadout.
The M-102 is listed as a Supply stratagem. Arrowhead first introduced the Fast Recon Vehicle in colony missions in its December 17, 2024 PATCH 01.002.001 notes, describing an FRV appearing in colonies to fight the Illuminate. The vehicle can also be called in through its stratagem permit.

How to call in and operate the FRV
Once you are in a mission with the M-102 equipped, call it down using the normal stratagem process. The vehicle is designed for squad use, so decide who will drive and who will take the gunner seat before setting off.
Driver: steer and select a gear
The driver controls movement and uses the gear selector. Helldivers Wiki.gg describes the options as reverse, first gear, second gear, and drive: reverse for backing up, first for slower and more controlled movement, second as a middle ground, and drive when speed matters most. These are practical trade-offs rather than published speed figures.

Exact buttons depend on your platform and configured bindings. Check the in-game Keybind settings for the current controls; bindings can be changed, so a fixed button prompt may not match your setup.
Rear gunner: cover the squad
A squadmate in the rear gunner position operates the mounted machine gun. That seat gives the vehicle a combat role as well as a way to move the squad, but it does not make the occupants invulnerable.

Passengers: lean out to fight
Passengers can lean out and fire their weapons. The vehicle reference also documents passengers deploying stratagems while peeking out. Coordinate before using this option so the driver can keep control while other players engage threats or call support.
What the FRV is—and what it is not
Arrowhead introduced the FRV as a high-speed vehicle for fighting in the colonies. Treat the M-102 as a fast, lightly armored transport and combat platform, not a guarantee of safety. The available sources do not establish a reliable numerical speed, armor, or durability figure, so those should not be assumed from informal estimates.

Do not confuse the M-102 with the M-103 Supply FRV
The M-102 Gunner FRV is the vehicle covered by this unlock walkthrough. Arrowhead’s July 23, 2026 announcement concerns a different vehicle, the M-103 Supply FRV, and says it would become permanently available in October 2026 for unlock with Requisition Slips. That announcement gives neither a precise release day nor a cost, and it does not replace the M-102’s listed permit details.
Because the M-103 is a separate variant, do not use its announcement as confirmation of the M-102’s current requirements. Check the in-game Hangar for the live M-102 listing.
