Four characters require unlocking in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon: Meat, Daegon, Blaze and Taven. The Prima Official Game Guide’s route is through Konquest Mode: collect 10 relics for Meat, 40 for Daegon, 50 for Blaze, and complete Konquest to unlock Taven.

Daegon is the exception to a simple answer. GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse list 30 relics rather than Prima’s 40, and the available references do not establish whether that difference comes from an edition, a guide error or another cause. The safest approach is to follow the official guide’s 40-relic requirement, while knowing why some walkthroughs tell you to stop at 30.

The complete unlock list

The licensed Mortal Kombat Armageddon — Prima Official Game Guide says that the game has 62 playable characters and that only four need to be unlocked. Its requirements are summarized below, with the conflicting Daegon figure shown rather than silently choosing one source.

  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.

  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

What counts as the full roster on each platform?

The 62-character figure applies to the versions covered by the guide, including the PlayStation 2 and Xbox releases. The Wii edition has 63 playable characters because it adds Khameleon. That extra fighter is a platform-specific roster addition, not one of the four Konquest characters listed above.

Version Roster figure cited by the references Important qualification
PlayStation 2 62 playable characters Four characters are described as requiring unlocks
Xbox 62 playable characters Four characters are described as requiring unlocks
Wii 63 playable characters Khameleon is added; she is not part of the four-character Konquest unlock list

If you are playing the Wii version, reaching the four Konquest thresholds does not explain the extra roster slot: Khameleon is the separate Wii addition. The platform distinction is documented in the Mortal Kombat: Armageddon overview.

How the official Konquest method works

Konquest Mode is the licensed guide’s stated unlock path. It combines two kinds of progress: a relic count for Meat, Daegon and Blaze, and full campaign completion for Taven. Relic thresholds are cumulative goals for the mode; Taven’s requirement is an end-to-end completion condition rather than a particular relic number.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Start Konquest Mode from the main menu.
  2. Record your relic total before beginning a session. This gives you a reference when checking whether a threshold has been reached.
  3. Explore the mode and collect relics as you encounter them. The requirements are count-based, so the important checkpoint is the total number credited to your Konquest progress.
  4. Use the threshold table to identify which character should be available at your current total: 10 for Meat, 40 according to Prima for Daegon, and 50 for Blaze.
  5. Continue through the campaign until Konquest is complete. That completion condition is what the guide and the cross-checked listings associate with Taven.
  6. After meeting a requirement, check the character roster. If a character is not available, verify the platform, the saved Konquest total and the source’s threshold before assuming the unlock has failed.

The available references do not provide a universal relic-by-relic route, map coordinates or a claim that every edition places each relic in exactly the same location. Consequently, a reliable walkthrough should tell you how many relics you need, not invent locations that are not established here.

Meat: 10 relics

Meat is the first relic-threshold unlock in the official table. Collect 10 relics in Konquest Mode. GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse agree with this 10-relic requirement, so there is no source conflict to resolve for Meat.

Daegon: 40 relics in Prima, 30 in two reference lists

Daegon is the only unlock with a documented numerical disagreement. Prima’s 2006 guide says 40 relics. Both GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse list 30. Because no consulted source establishes whether this reflects a regional or platform edition, a typographical error or another difference, do not present 30 or 40 as an uncontested universal fact.

For a guide-led playthrough, continue to 40 relics: that is the requirement printed in the licensed guide. If a particular community walkthrough says Daegon appears at 30, treat that as the value reported by that reference and compare it with your own version rather than discarding the official-guide figure.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Blaze: 50 relics

Blaze requires 50 relics in Prima’s table. GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse also report 50, making this the highest relic threshold and the one on which the three listed references agree.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

Taven: complete Konquest Mode

Taven is not tied to a 10-, 30-, 40- or 50-relic checkpoint in the official table. Complete Konquest Mode. GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse give the same completion requirement. Collecting enough relics for another character therefore does not replace the need to finish the campaign for Taven.

Step-by-step relic planning

1. Choose the threshold you are targeting

For Meat, set a 10-relic goal. For Blaze, set a 50-relic goal. For Daegon, decide whether you are following Prima’s 40-relic instruction or testing the 30-relic figure reported by the two community-maintained references. Keeping that choice explicit prevents a walkthrough’s number from being mistaken for a settled edition-wide rule.

2. Keep a written count

Use a simple checklist or note outside the game. Record each relic as the game credits it and write down the running total after a session. This is especially useful for Daegon, where a player following one source may expect an unlock five or ten relics earlier than a player following another.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Do not confuse a relic goal with campaign completion

Relic collection governs Meat, Daegon and Blaze. Taven uses the separate condition of completing Konquest. A player can reach a relic threshold without having completed the campaign, and a campaign-completion run should still be checked separately for Taven.

4. Check the roster after the relevant condition

Once the threshold or completion condition has been met, leave the mode in an orderly way and inspect character selection. If the expected fighter is missing, first compare your count with the table, then confirm that you are using the correct platform’s instructions. Do not immediately assume that a 30-relic Daegon claim applies to every release.

5. Preserve the save that contains your progress

Unlock requirements depend on Konquest progress, so avoid deleting or replacing the save you used to collect the relics until you have confirmed the character is available. The references do not specify a universal recovery procedure for lost saves; keeping the original progress is therefore the safest practical precaution.

Using the Krypt code route

Community reference pages also document an alternative route through the Krypt. GameFAQs describes entering codes at the question-mark box and lists platform- and controller-specific entries. Mortal Kombat Warehouse places the four character codes at Wall 4 in its Krypt guide. These are contributed reference lists, not a confirmation in the Prima guide that codes replace the Konquest requirements.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Where to look

  1. Open the Krypt and locate the question-mark box identified by the code listings.
  2. For the Mortal Kombat Warehouse layout, use the entries identified as Wall 4.
  3. Use the listing for your exact platform and controller. Do not copy a Wii input sequence from a PlayStation 2 or Xbox entry.
  4. Enter the sequence exactly as the listing presents it, then check the roster.

The exact strings are not reproduced here because the references separate them by platform and controller, and the Wii control method differs from the other versions. Use the relevant entries in GameFAQs’ Mortal Kombat: Armageddon cheats page and the Mortal Kombat Warehouse Krypt guide, preserving the controller label shown for your release.

What the code route does and does not prove

A successful code entry can provide a practical shortcut, but it does not settle the Daegon relic dispute. Nor does it change the platform roster count: the Wii still has Khameleon as its additional fighter. Treat the code method and the Konquest method as two separately documented approaches, with the licensed guide supporting the latter.

Platform-specific cautions

PlayStation 2

Use the PlayStation 2 character and controller entries when consulting a Krypt code list. The roster context is the 62-character figure cited for the non-Wii releases. The Konquest thresholds themselves are the same figures listed in the table, subject to the unresolved Daegon disagreement.

Xbox

Xbox uses its own controller notation in contributed code lists. A code sequence written for another controller should not be assumed to use the same button labels or order. For the progression method, use Konquest relic totals and campaign completion exactly as described above.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Wii

The Wii edition has 63 playable characters because Khameleon is included. Its Krypt code references include Wii-specific controller entries, so read the input label before entering anything. Khameleon should not be counted as a fifth Konquest unlock: the four characters identified by the official guide remain Meat, Daegon, Blaze and Taven.

Troubleshooting an unlock that does not appear

The character is missing at 10 or 50 relics

  • Recount the relics credited to Konquest rather than relying on an estimate from memory.
  • Confirm that you are checking the roster for the same game version in which you collected the relics.
  • Check that the relevant condition was actually met: 10 for Meat or 50 for Blaze.
  • Review the save containing the Konquest progress before starting a new run.

Those two thresholds are consistent across the three cited unlock references, so a discrepancy is more likely to be a counting, save or version-identification problem than a disagreement in the published number.

Daegon is missing at 30 relics

That result is compatible with Prima’s 40-relic requirement. Continue collecting until 40 if you are following the licensed guide. The 30-relic number is reported by GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse, but the available references do not say why it differs; it may not apply to your edition or setup.

Taven is missing after collecting many relics

Relic totals do not substitute for completing Konquest. Finish the campaign itself, then check the roster. Both the official guide and the cross-checked listings describe completion as Taven’s requirement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A Krypt code fails

  • Verify that the entry came from the correct platform section.
  • Verify the controller label, especially on Wii, where the documented input methods differ.
  • Use the question-mark box and Wall 4 locations specified by the listing.
  • Check the original code page for formatting or sequence details rather than adapting a code from another platform.

A practical completion checklist

  • Identify whether you are playing PlayStation 2, Xbox or Wii.
  • Remember the roster baseline: 62 characters on PlayStation 2 and Xbox; 63 on Wii because of Khameleon.
  • Collect 10 Konquest relics for Meat.
  • For Daegon, follow Prima’s 40-relic requirement unless your own edition and chosen reference clearly support the 30-relic listing.
  • Collect 50 Konquest relics for Blaze.
  • Complete Konquest Mode for Taven.
  • If using codes, open the Krypt’s question-mark box, use Wall 4 where specified, and select the exact platform/controller listing.
  • Keep your Konquest save until every expected character is visible in the roster.

Planning the shortest reliable route

If your goal is to unlock the four fighters through normal play, combine the objectives instead of making separate runs. Relics collected while progressing through Konquest count toward the thresholds, so a single campaign can work toward Meat, Daegon and Blaze while also moving toward Taven’s completion requirement. The practical order is therefore cumulative: pass 10 relics, continue toward the Daegon target, reach 50 for Blaze, and finish the campaign for Taven.

Because the Daegon number is the only disputed checkpoint, write the target at the top of your checklist before you begin. A player using Prima’s figure should mark 40 as the confirmation point. A player comparing a GameFAQs or Mortal Kombat Warehouse listing may test at 30, but should keep collecting if the character does not appear. This avoids abandoning a successful save simply because two references use different numbers.

Do not treat the roster total as a progress meter for the four unlocks. On PS2 and Xbox, 62 is the cited total once the roster is complete; on Wii, 63 reflects Khameleon’s inclusion. The number tells you which edition you have, not how many relics remain. Likewise, seeing one newly available character does not prove that the other three conditions have been met: each has its own threshold or completion rule.

How to choose between Konquest and codes

Konquest is the most clearly documented path because it is the method described by the licensed 2006 guide. It also preserves the intended progression and gives you a direct way to work toward all four characters in one save. The trade-off is time: you must explore for relics and complete the campaign.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Krypt method is useful when you want a shortcut or are replaying the game after losing progress. However, its code lists come from contributor-maintained pages, and the entries are divided by platform and controller. That makes precision more important than speed. A PS2 sequence should not be transcribed into an Xbox input scheme, and a Wii listing should be read with its specific controller label. If a code fails, recheck the location, platform heading and exact formatting before concluding that the character is unavailable in your version.

Using a code also does not answer the Daegon question. It bypasses the relic checkpoint rather than proving whether 30 or 40 is the correct Konquest trigger. For a documented, repeatable playthrough, record which method you used and keep the save associated with it.

Which source should you trust?

For the unlock table, the strongest source in the available material is the Prima Official Game Guide, published in 2006 and labeled as the official guide. It supplies the 62-character statement and the four-character list with thresholds. GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse are useful cross-checks for the 10-relic Meat requirement, the 50-relic Blaze requirement and Taven’s completion requirement, while also documenting the 30-relic Daegon figure and Krypt code references.

The Daegon conflict remains unresolved by these references. No source cited here establishes that one number belongs to a particular region, edition or platform. A careful walkthrough should therefore name the source beside the number, as this article does, instead of flattening the disagreement into a single supposedly universal threshold.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For the Wii roster distinction, the platform overview at Wikipedia’s Mortal Kombat: Armageddon article identifies the 63-character Wii roster and the addition of Khameleon. That fact is separate from the Konquest unlock requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you unlock characters in Armageddon?

Use Konquest Mode. Collect 10 relics for Meat, 50 for Blaze, and follow the official guide’s 40-relic requirement for Daegon. Complete the Konquest campaign to unlock Taven.

How many relics do you need to unlock Daegon?

Prima’s 2006 Official Game Guide says 40 relics. GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse list 30. Because the references do not explain the conflict, use 40 as the safest guide-led target and treat 30 as a source-specific report rather than a universal rule.

Is Taven unlocked by collecting 50 relics?

No. Fifty relics is the Blaze requirement. Taven is associated with completing Konquest Mode, regardless of the relic threshold you have reached.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is Meat available after 10 relics?

Yes. Prima, GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse all list 10 Konquest relics for Meat.

Does the Wii version have a different number of characters?

Yes. PS2 and Xbox are cited with 62 playable characters, while Wii has 63 because it adds Khameleon. Khameleon is not one of the four Konquest unlocks.

Can Krypt codes unlock the four characters?

Contributor-maintained GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse pages list character codes entered through the Krypt’s question-mark box, with the latter identifying Wall 4. Use the exact platform and controller listing. The Prima guide describes Konquest as the official unlock path and does not establish that codes replace it.

Why did my Daegon unlock not appear at 30 relics?

Thirty is reported by GameFAQs and Mortal Kombat Warehouse, but Prima lists 40. Continue to 40 if you are following the official guide, and confirm that your relic count and save belong to the same game version.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do relics need to be collected in a particular order?

The cited material establishes totals, not a universal relic-by-relic order or map route. Track the cumulative count credited by Konquest and use the threshold table rather than relying on an unverified location order.

The Bottom Line

For the documented route, play Konquest, collect 10 relics for Meat, 40 for Daegon according to Prima, 50 for Blaze, and finish the campaign for Taven. Remember that Daegon is also listed at 30 by two community references. On Wii, Khameleon accounts for the 63rd roster slot; on PS2 and Xbox, the cited total is 62. Krypt codes are a separate, platform- and controller-specific shortcut.
