How to Unlock Mobile Multiplayer in Stardew Valley (iOS and Android)

To unlock Stardew Valley’s experimental mobile Co-op mode, tap the leaf groups on the title-screen logo in this order: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, then tap the ? button in the lower-right corner. Close the help menu and the Co-op button should appear. The feature is for Android and iOS versions associated with mobile version 1.6; it is not available in the Apple Arcade edition, Stardew Valley+.

Unlock the Co-op button

1. Update the game to a mobile version that includes the feature. ConcernedApe introduced access to the hidden feature with the release of Stardew Valley 1.6 on mobile. It is available on Android and iOS, but not the Apple Arcade version, also called Stardew Valley+. See the official Mobile Multiplayer Guide.
2. At the title screen, tap the four groups of leaves on the Stardew Valley logo in this exact sequence: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right.
3. Tap the ? button in the lower-right corner to open the help menu.
4. Exit the help menu. A Co-op button should now be visible on the title screen.

Host a farm or join one

Open Co-op and choose Host to start or load a farm, or Join to connect to another player. A host needs available cabins for joining players. Mobile multiplayer does not provide farm discovery, so the person joining must enter the host’s IP address.

Find the host’s local IP address

• iPhone or iPad: Settings → Wi-Fi → tap the information icon beside the connected network → find IP Address.
• Android: Settings → Network & internet → Internet → tap the gear beside the connected Wi-Fi network → find IP address.

Those paths are for finding a device’s address on its local network; menu labels can vary by device or operating-system version. A mobile player can also join a PC-hosted farm by IP.

Check the network and game version

For the straightforward setup, all players should be on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot. The official guide says the host can instead configure port forwarding for remote connections and specifies UDP port 24642. Only change router settings if you understand the security implications; the guide’s port-forwarding details are in its networking instructions.

All players must use the same Stardew Valley version or the connection will fail. To check the mobile version, open the ? menu; the version number appears in its lower-left corner. The guide describes a high-end mobile device joining a PC host over local Wi-Fi as the preferred scenario. It warns that cellular-network hosting or joining may cause problems, and mobile interruptions or weak performance can make a session unreliable.

What to expect from mobile multiplayer

This is an experimental feature, not a guaranteed or fully polished service. ConcernedApe warns that it may have bugs and platform-related issues, and recommends backing up an important save before trying it. On iOS, the first attempt to join may prompt for permission to find and connect to devices on the local network. If that first connection attempt fails after permission is granted, retrying should work, according to the official guide.
