How do you unlock skins in ACE COMBAT 8?
There are two routes described by the publisher: get the named cosmetics through an edition that includes the Customizable Cosmetic Set, or unlock online customization rewards through the seasonal ACE PASS. These are not interchangeable systems: ACE COMBAT ONLINE has separate save data and progression from Campaign Mode.

The official materials do not publish the exact rank, challenge, or season level for each individual skin. For a specific reward, inspect the current ACE PASS track in-game rather than assuming every skin has the same requirement.
How to get the Mobius Squadron or Team Zvezda skin
Both named aircraft skins are part of the same Customizable Cosmetic Set. Bandai Namco lists that set with the Deluxe Edition, Joker Flight Pack, and Premium Joker Flight Pack. The set also contains Tasha’s costume for the multiplayer lobby and Scarlet missile-smoke customization for online multiplayer aircraft.

The edition guide does not specify a menu path for equipping these cosmetics, so it is safest to use the game’s available aircraft-customization interface rather than rely on an unverified sequence of menus. The key eligibility distinction is that the two named skins are multiplayer cosmetics first; Campaign Mode access is stated to open after campaign completion.
How ACE PASS progression works
ACE PASS tracks progression in ACE COMBAT ONLINE. It has a standard track and a Premium ACE PASS track, with new rewards added every two months according to the publisher’s current guide. Missions award currency for purchases and experience that raises mercenary rank; rank rewards can include upgrades, consumables, aircraft, and avatar customization.

A Premium ACE Pass Plus voucher unlocks the current season’s premium track and instantly grants 30 premium levels. The voucher is included with the Deluxe Edition and the listed collector packs. That boost applies to premium-track progression; it does not establish that all skins require payment, since customization can also appear among rank rewards generally. Reward details can change by season, so use the current in-game track to confirm a particular skin’s level or challenge.
Can multiplayer skins be used in the campaign?
For the F-4E “MOBIUS SQUADRON” and F/A-18 C “TEAM ZVEZDA” specifically, yes: the publisher says campaign use becomes available after completing the campaign. This is a stated condition for those two edition cosmetics, not a general promise that online unlocks transfer to Campaign Mode.

ACE COMBAT ONLINE uses its own save data and progression, separate from Campaign Mode. The launch announcement describes seasonal online rewards that include aircraft skins, but the publisher’s mode guide does not say that online rewards in general carry into the campaign. Treat campaign availability as cosmetic-specific unless the game or a current official reward listing says otherwise.
Which editions include the named skins?

Why the online progression distinction matters
ACE COMBAT ONLINE is a distinct multiplayer mode with its own progression and save data. Bandai Namco describes co-op, PvP, and PvPvE activities, cross-play, and lobbies of up to 100 players. The persistent mercenary progression and seasonal rewards belong to that online system, rather than serving as a universal campaign unlock path.
