To get Barrow-Dyad’s Target Lock Refit, complete Derealize and replay the mission on Master difficulty or higher for its remaining catalyst rewards. After each reward, inspect Barrow-Dyad’s weapon screen and look specifically for Target Lock Refit. The available reporting does not establish which numbered clear grants it, so there is no confirmed run count to follow.
Current reported unlock route
- Check the activity selector. Current guide coverage says Derealize is available through the Pinnacle Ops listing. Bungie’s official announcement confirms the mission’s original connection to Barrow-Dyad, but does not independently confirm its current menu placement. Bungie’s Act III announcement and the August 8, 2026 guide provide those respective details.
- Launch and complete Derealize. Claim the mission reward.
- Run Derealize again on Master difficulty or higher. The August 2026 guide reports that repeat clears at this difficulty award the remaining catalyst rewards.
- Check Barrow-Dyad after each reward. Inspect its shaping or inspection interface and confirm that the unlocked catalyst is specifically Target Lock Refit. The reward order linking numbered clears to named refits has not been established in the available sources.
Do you still need The Nether secrets?
Not as current, confirmed instructions. The original Act III route involved Heresy story progress and a chain of secrets in The Nether: solving a Hive rune puzzle in The Founts, finding a hidden Taken Blight, obtaining two Coalescence of the Knife items, interacting with the Crossed Blades Tithe in Hull Breach, collecting ten Ravenous Wormspawn, and then completing Derealize with Barrow-Dyad equipped. That walkthrough describes the 2025 route, not a verified present-day method. See the original secret walkthrough.

Bungie’s Year 8 Destiny Content Vault listing places Episode: Heresy, The Nether, Court of Blades, and The Taken Path among vaulted content. Bungie also notes that vaulted activities may return through the Portal in later releases. Because activity availability can change, check the in-game selector before attempting old Nether directions.
What is confirmed about Target Lock?
Bungie announced Target Lock as Barrow-Dyad’s fourth catalyst when Act III launched. Its announcement said Derealize awards the Exotic weapon but deliberately did not disclose the catalyst unlock methods. Bungie described the weapon as “100% completed” with One for All and Target Lock as its third and fourth catalysts, respectively; that wording describes the weapon’s available completion options, not a drop rate or performance statistic. Bungie’s April 3, 2025 announcement establishes that context.
#1 Best Overall
The current repeat-Master-clear route is reported by the August 2026 guide rather than specified in the official announcement. That guide does not securely identify which numbered reward is Target Lock, so use the weapon screen to verify the named refit rather than relying on a claimed clear number.
