Where to start Enter the Viper
- Travel to Ul’dah – Steps of Nald.
- Find Worried Weaver at X:9.3, Y:9.2.
- Accept and complete Enter the Viper to unlock Viper.
Viper is a job rather than a class, so there is no separate base class to unlock first. It begins at level 80.
What to do if the quest is unavailable
Check that you are on a qualifying level-80 Disciple of War or Magic and that your account and platform edition include the expansion content required to access Viper. Square Enix describes Dawntrail as an expansion for existing Starter Edition owners and recommends Complete Edition for players who do not own Starter Edition. Verify the entitlement for your specific account and platform through the official Dawntrail page and your platform’s official store before purchasing; edition availability and details may change.
#1 Best Overall
- Adventure awaits you beyond the horizon in FINAL FANTASY XIV.
- This product is a digital 60-Day Game Time Card for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. It serves as a payment option that allows players to add 60 days of game time to their FFXIV account at the Standard subscription rate, subject to account limits. Both the game and game time are required to play.
- This product can be redeemed on service accounts registered with the Windows, Mac, PlayStation, or Steam versions of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. However, it cannot be redeemed on service accounts that have only the XBOX or Nintendo Switch 2 versions registered.
Unlocking Viper versus leveling it
Completing Enter the Viper unlocks the job at level 80; later Viper quests are progression content, not requirements for the initial unlock. The Lodestone’s Viper quest listing is labeled Patch 7.56 and includes subsequent quests at levels 80, 83, 85, 88, and 90. For an overview of the job, Square Enix describes Viper as a melee DPS job that uses dual blades separately or combined, with combat built primarily around three-step combos. The official Viper Job Guide says its action descriptions reflect level-100 attributes and points to Patch 7.5 notes for action changes, so details of individual actions can change with updates.
