Use the official MOBAPAD app for M12 Pro firmware updates and controller settings; update Switch 2 separately in the console’s System Settings. Before installing firmware, check the exact model name printed on your controller: MOBAPAD’s current manual index lists M12 HD and M12 S manuals, but no M12 Pro manual, and the available app notes do not establish that firmware for either variant applies to the Pro.
Before you update: confirm the exact M12 model
Check the model name printed on the controller, its packaging, or your order listing. MOBAPAD markets the M12 Pro as a Joy-Con-style controller for Switch 2, but its manual index names M12 HD and M12 S rather than M12 Pro. The relationship between those model labels is not established in the available documentation, so do not select firmware or a manual for the HD or S just because the names are similar.
Start at the official MOBAPAD downloads page. If the app, a firmware prompt, or a manual identifies a different M12 variant from the label on your controller, stop and ask MOBAPAD support which instructions apply before proceeding.
Update M12 Pro firmware with the MOBAPAD app
- Install the app for your phone. MOBAPAD lists its app for Android and iOS on its downloads page. The page listed app version 2.8.5 when accessed in 2026; check the page for the version currently offered for your device.
- Connect or select the controller in the app. MOBAPAD identifies app support for the M12 Pro and lists Bluetooth and wired connection modes. The available official pages do not give exact M12 Pro pairing taps or a button combination, so follow the app’s on-screen instructions rather than using a sequence intended for another M12 model.
- Follow an update prompt only if it matches your model. If the app offers firmware for a controller explicitly identified as M12 Pro, follow the app’s instructions. If it offers firmware labeled M12 HD or M12 S, do not assume it is compatible with M12 Pro; confirm with MOBAPAD first.
- After the update, choose settings for the identified model. Use only controls the app presents for your connected controller. The official pages describe app capabilities generally, but do not show the M12 Pro’s exact settings screens.
The official MOBAPAD downloads page separately lists a PC app, version 1.3.0, as being for Huben2 only. It is not identified there as an M12 Pro update tool.

#1 Best Overall
- 【Hall Effect Anti-Drift】Dual Hall effect joysticks use magnetic sensing with no mechanical contact — zero stick drift, zero dead zones, no recalibration over the life of the controller. The 6-axis gyroscope adds tilt-based motion aiming for shooters and motion-controlled titles, giving you a second layer of precision beyond stick input alone.
- 【Silent Buttons, 20-Hour Battery】Membrane switches replace clicky contacts, keeping press noise low enough for late-night gaming in a dorm room, shared apartment, or next to someone sleeping. The 800 mAh battery runs up to 20 hours per charge — one charge covers a full weekend. Ergonomic contoured grips keep your hands comfortable through every hour of it.
- 【Wireless or Wired, Your Call】Connect wirelessly to Switch, PC, or phone for cable-free play, or plug in over USB-C when you want zero-delay input for competitive games. One controller works across Switch, Switch 2, Windows PC, and Android — no extra adapters needed.
- 【Retro Look, Fighting-Ready D-Pad】A classic two-tone gray shell with four-color ABXY buttons and customizable RGB lighting — clean enough for a desk setup, bold enough for a convention. The optimized D-pad delivers precise directional inputs and reliable combo execution for fighting games, retro platformers, and side-scrollers.
- 【Back Buttons, Macro, Turbo & APP】Two rear buttons and a dedicated M key map to any input — dodge, reload, or full macro sequences without lifting your thumbs. Turbo mode adds rapid-fire to any button. Adjustable dual vibration lets you dial rumble up or down per game. The free companion app controls it all: remap buttons, set stick dead zones, tune vibration, adjust turbo speed, and customize RGB — saved as per-game profiles.
Configure buttons and other controller settings
MOBAPAD says its app supports firmware upgrades and a range of customization options. The M12 Pro product page specifically identifies two customizable M1/M2 buttons. The broader capabilities below are described for the app generally; their exact availability and controls for M12 Pro are not documented in the available pages.
| Setting or feature | What the official pages establish |
|---|---|
| M1/M2 buttons | The M12 Pro product page identifies two customizable buttons. |
| Keys, combos, and macros | Listed as general MOBAPAD app capabilities; M12 Pro-specific screens are not shown. |
| Joystick curves and triggers | Listed as general app capabilities; the exact M12 Pro controls are not documented. |
| Lighting and vibration | Listed as general app capabilities; the M12 Pro page also mentions RGB lighting and HD2.0 vibration. |
| Motion and other model-specific controls | App Store release notes describe additions for M12-HD and M12-S, not explicitly for M12 Pro. |
For example, Apple’s App Store notes for app version 2.8.4 describe joystick dead-zone and compensation, motion-control, turbo, and vibration settings for M12-HD, and joystick curve/dead-zone and turbo settings for M12-S. The notes say those additions require M12-HD firmware v0.32 or later and M12-S firmware v1.18 or later, respectively. These are model-specific requirements in the notes; they do not establish firmware requirements or feature availability for M12 Pro.

The M12 Pro product page lists Bluetooth 5.3, wired connection, NFC, 9-axis motion sensing, TMR Glide joysticks, mouse functionality, and an 800mAh battery. These are MOBAPAD’s product specifications and claims, not independent test results. For operating details such as mouse functionality, follow guidance that explicitly matches your controller model.
Update Switch 2 separately
A console system update is different from controller firmware. To check for a Switch 2 system update, open System Settings > System > System Update, following Nintendo’s system update instructions.

Nintendo’s separate controller update guidance is for Nintendo Pro Controllers. Do not treat the console’s “Update Controllers” option as the MOBAPAD firmware updater; use the MOBAPAD app for M12 Pro firmware.
If the app does not recognize the controller
- Check that the controller label matches the model selected or named in the app. Do not substitute M12-HD or M12-S instructions without confirmation.
- Check the official downloads page for the Android or iOS app version offered for your device, then follow its on-screen connection instructions.
- If the app still does not find the controller, or the offered firmware or manual names another M12 variant, contact MOBAPAD support for model-specific guidance instead of trying a different model’s firmware.
Nintendo documents a console button-input diagnostic at System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Test Input Devices > Test Controller Buttons. It may help check whether button input is recognized by the console, depending on how the M12 is connected and recognized. Nintendo’s instructions address Nintendo Pro Controllers, so the test should not be taken as proof that every M12 function will appear or be testable there.

Documentation to check before changing advanced settings
MOBAPAD’s manual index currently lists M12 HD and M12 S manuals, not an M12 Pro manual. Its downloads page lists the app and software, while the M12 Pro product page describes the controller and its advertised features. Use documentation that names your exact model, especially before changing firmware; the similar product names alone do not establish compatibility.
