Update Roblox through the Amazon Appstore—not by buying Roblox Premium or downloading a random APK. Open the Appstore, search for the official Roblox listing, and tap Update. If the update is blocked on an Amazon Kids profile, switch to the adult profile first. If no update is offered, restart the tablet, check Fire OS and compatibility, then reinstall Roblox from the official Amazon Appstore.
What “upgrade Roblox” means
On a Fire tablet, “upgrade Roblox” usually means update the Roblox app to a newer build. It does not mean:

- Upgrading the Fire tablet to a newer Fire OS version, although a Fire OS update may help.
- Buying Roblox Premium. A subscription will not fix an outdated app.
- Installing an APK from an unofficial website.
Reinstalling Roblox is a separate troubleshooting step that removes the current installation and downloads a fresh official copy.
Update Roblox from the Amazon Appstore
- Connect the tablet to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Amazon Appstore.
- Search for Roblox.
- Open the official Roblox listing and confirm that the app is from Roblox.
- Tap Update, if available.
- Wait for the installation to finish, then open Roblox and sign in.
If the button says Open instead of Update, the Appstore currently sees no newer update for that installation. Roblox says mobile updates contain bug fixes and improvements, but the Appstore interface may not always display a version number. See the official Roblox app listing for general update information.

Update Roblox from an Amazon Kids profile
A child profile may have permission, age, app-sharing, or store restrictions that prevent Roblox from updating. Amazon staff advised one Fire HD 8 user to perform the update from the adult profile.
- From the child profile, swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap the profile icon.
- Select the adult profile and enter the adult password if requested.
- Open the Amazon Appstore.
- Search for Roblox and tap Update.
- Return to the child profile and launch Roblox.
The profile icon and menu wording can differ by Fire OS version. If the child profile continues to report that the update is blocked, check the parental-control and app-sharing settings. Amazon’s forum guidance describes this adult-profile workaround for a specific Kids-profile issue; it is not a guarantee for every configuration.
No Update button? Try these steps
A missing Update button does not necessarily mean Roblox is broken. The app may already be current, the Appstore listing may not have refreshed, or the tablet may not be eligible for the latest release.

- Restart the Fire tablet.
- Reopen the Appstore and search for Roblox again.
- Confirm that Wi-Fi is stable and that the tablet has enough free storage for the download.
- Try the adult profile if Roblox is installed in an Amazon Kids profile.
- Install any available Fire OS update.
- If Roblox still behaves as though it is outdated, uninstall and reinstall it from the Amazon Appstore.
Roblox lists an approximate minimum connection of 4–8 Mb/s, with Wi-Fi generally being more reliable. That is a connection guideline, not a guarantee that every experience will run smoothly. Restart the router only if other devices are also having connection problems.
Reinstall Roblox to force a fresh official copy
Roblox’s Fire OS troubleshooting guidance recommends reinstalling from the Amazon Store when updating does not resolve the problem.
- Make sure you know the Roblox username and password before removing the app.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and open Settings.
- Choose Apps & Games.
- Choose Manage All Applications.
- Select Roblox.
- Tap Uninstall.
- Open the Amazon Appstore and search for Roblox.
- Install the official Roblox app and sign in again.
Fire OS labels may vary slightly by tablet generation. Your Roblox inventory, progress, and purchases are associated with your account, but local settings and cached app data may be removed. If you forgot the account credentials, recover the account before uninstalling. Roblox identifies the Amazon Appstore as an official download source, so do not substitute a random third-party APK site.

Update the Fire tablet itself
An app update and a Fire OS update are different things. To check for system updates, open Settings and look for Device Options, System, or Software Updates, depending on the Fire OS release. Install any available update, restart the tablet, and try Roblox again.
For Roblox’s documented Fire OS information path, swipe down, tap More, then Device and About. On newer releases, use the equivalent Device or About screen. Roblox recommends keeping the device software current before using the mobile app.
Check whether your Fire tablet is supported
Roblox currently lists these minimum Amazon Fire tablet families:

These are Roblox’s listed minimum device families, not a promise of equal performance. A tablet below the listed generation may show no compatible update, fail to install the current app, or load Roblox while failing to run particular experiences. A Fire OS update cannot overcome unsupported hardware.
Check the tablet’s model and generation in its Device or About screen. Roblox also notes that newly released devices and operating systems may not be supported immediately. See Roblox’s current mobile system requirements.

An individual experience will not load
If Roblox opens normally but one game does not, that experience may have stricter hardware, operating-system, or security requirements. Updating the app will not guarantee access to every experience.

A security or integrity warning appears
Roblox says some experiences use remote attestation to check whether the device is physical, the app is unmodified, the operating system is trusted, and the bootloader and system integrity meet required conditions. Roblox also says Amazon Fire devices are not expected to support this remote-attestation feature. Some Roblox experiences may still work, but games using stricter checks may not.
Roblox recommends using an official store installation, current device software, and official system firmware. Remove root or custom firmware and reinstall Roblox if the app was modified or sideloaded. Do not assume that a newer APK will fix an integrity or compatibility error. The tablet is too old
If the Fire tablet is below Roblox’s supported generations, the practical solution may be a newer compatible device. Installing Google Play or sideloading an APK does not make unsupported hardware supported and can introduce security, update, and account-integrity problems.

Contact Roblox Support after completing the official update or reinstall steps, especially when the Appstore offers no compatible version or a specific error persists. Include:
- Your Roblox username.
- The exact Fire tablet model and generation.
- The Fire OS version.
- The complete error message.
- The steps that trigger the problem.
- Whether the app was installed from the Amazon Appstore.
- Any recent network, operating-system, firmware, or profile changes.
