To update Roblox on Windows 11, start with Microsoft Store: close Roblox, open Microsoft Store, select Check for updates, and install the Roblox update if it appears. Look for the newer listing named Roblox – Windows. If you normally launch Roblox from a browser, use the official Roblox website instead; that installation may not have a separate update button.
For most Windows 11 installations, update Roblox through Microsoft Store: close Roblox, open Microsoft Store, choose Check for updates in the Store’s library/update area, and install the Roblox update if one is listed. However, not every Roblox installation is managed through Microsoft Store. Roblox also supports a browser-launched Roblox Player, which normally updates when you launch or reinstall it.

Roblox’s current Windows guidance distinguishes between two Microsoft Store listings:
- Roblox – Windows: the newer Windows app, shown with a blue icon.
- Roblox: the older Store app, shown with a light-gray icon.
If you search Microsoft Store, look specifically for Roblox – Windows rather than assuming that every result labeled “Roblox” is the current app. Store names and layouts can change between Windows 11 revisions, so use the app publisher and icon as additional checks.

How to update Roblox on Windows 11 through Microsoft Store
- Close Roblox completely. Exit the game and close any Roblox windows. If the game is still running, the Store may not be able to replace its files cleanly.
- Open Microsoft Store. Select Start, type Microsoft Store, and open the Store app.
- Open the Store’s update area. Select the Store’s library or update section, then choose Check for updates or Get updates, depending on the current Store interface.
- Install the Roblox update. If Roblox appears in the pending updates list, select Update or allow Get updates to install it. If you are locating the current app manually, search for Roblox – Windows.
- Wait for the installation to finish. Keep Microsoft Store open until the download and installation complete. A slow connection, Store maintenance, or a pending Windows restart can delay the process.
- Launch Roblox again. Open it from the Start menu, or sign in at the official Roblox website and launch an experience.
Microsoft says Store apps and games generally update automatically, but manually selecting Check for updates is useful when Roblox appears out of date or is failing to launch. There may not be a conventional “Update Roblox” button inside the game itself.
How to update the browser-launched Roblox Player
Some Windows players do not manage Roblox from Microsoft Store. Roblox’s installation instructions also describe a Player launched from a supported browser.

- Open Roblox in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox.
- Sign in and open any experience.
- Select the green Play button.
- If Windows or the browser asks which program should open the Roblox link, choose Roblox Player and allow it to launch.
With this installation type, you may not see a separate update command. Launching Roblox normally obtains the current Player installation. If its files are missing or damaged, reinstalling Roblox can replace them. Do not download a random “Roblox updater” from an unofficial website; use Roblox’s official website or Microsoft Store.
Microsoft Store shows no Roblox update
Work through these fixes in order. Test Roblox after each step so you do not perform more disruptive repairs than necessary.
1. Restart Windows
A recently installed Windows update may need a restart before Microsoft Store apps can be installed or updated. Select Start > Power > Restart, then open Microsoft Store and check again.

2. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
wsreset.exe. - Select OK.
A blank Command Prompt window may appear for approximately 10 seconds. Microsoft Store should open automatically afterward. Return to the Store’s update area and select Check for updates again.

Windows 11 can repair some installed apps without immediately removing them:
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Roblox in the list.
- Select the three-dot menu next to it.
- Choose Advanced options.
- Select Repair, if the option is available.
Repair attempts to fix the installation while preserving the app’s normal setup. Not every app exposes these options.
4. Reset Roblox if Repair did not work
Return to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Roblox > Advanced options and choose Reset if it is available. Reset is more disruptive than Repair and may remove the app’s local data or preferences, so use it only after trying Repair.
5. Check Windows Update
Open Start > Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates. Install any available updates and restart Windows if requested. Then try Microsoft Store again.

6. Check the Store account and app availability
If Microsoft Store cannot find or install Roblox, confirm that:
- you are signed in to the intended Microsoft account;
- your Windows 11 device is compatible with the app;
- the app is available in your region; and
- Windows does not still require a restart after an update.
These checks matter because a missing Store listing is not always an update failure. It can also result from account, compatibility, region, or pending-system-update conditions.
Roblox is stuck on “Getting Latest Roblox”
An endless Getting Latest Roblox message usually indicates that Roblox did not install correctly. Roblox’s recommended path is to uninstall Roblox and reinstall it. Restart Windows first; if the loop remains, continue with the reinstall.
- Close Roblox and other open programs.
- Uninstall Roblox using Windows or the Store’s uninstall option.
- If Windows asks for a restart after uninstalling, restart before reinstalling.
- Reinstall Roblox only through Microsoft Store or Roblox’s official website.
- Restart Windows again if the installation or Roblox support instructions request it.
If the loop continues after reinstalling, consult Roblox’s Launcher Plugin troubleshooting guidance. Reinstalling is not the right first response to every update complaint, but it is appropriate when the Player cannot complete its installation or has broken files.
Full desktop reinstall for a damaged Roblox installation
Use this as a last-resort troubleshooting route rather than as the standard update method. A normal Store update or normal browser launch is less disruptive.

- Search Windows for Control Panel and open it.
- Choose Programs > Programs and Features.
- Right-click Roblox.
- Select Uninstall or Uninstall/Change, then follow the prompts.
- If the problem persists, clear Roblox’s local app data as directed by Roblox’s troubleshooting instructions.
- Restart the computer.
- Reinstall Roblox from Microsoft Store or the official Roblox website.
Clearing local app data can remove cached files and local settings, so do not start with that step when a simple restart, Store cache reset, or app repair may solve the problem.
When the problem is not actually an update
Reinstalling Roblox will not necessarily fix a Roblox service outage, blocked network, browser extension, VPN, or website problem. If the Store update completes but Roblox still will not launch or connect, separate the symptoms:
- Store problem: Roblox is missing, stuck downloading, or fails to install. Follow the restart,
wsreset.exe, Repair, Reset, and Windows Update steps above. - Installation problem: Roblox is stuck on “Getting Latest Roblox” or repeatedly reinstalls. Use the official uninstall-and-reinstall path.
- Browser or website problem: the Play button does not respond, the browser cannot hand off to Roblox, or the website behaves incorrectly. Try an updated Edge, Chrome, or Firefox installation.
- Network problem: Roblox launches but cannot connect. Temporarily disable active browser extensions or a VPN for testing, check the network, and avoid assuming that an app update will resolve the connection issue.
Roblox recommends clearing temporary internet files and cookies, updating the browser, and disabling active extensions or VPNs when website-launched Roblox is malfunctioning.
Windows 11 compatibility checks
Roblox states that its PC application supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. Its listed Windows requirements or recommendations include:
- DirectX: DirectX 10 or higher feature-level support;
- Memory: at least 1 GB of RAM;
- Storage: at least 300 MB of available system storage; and
- Browser support: current Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox for the website-launched Player.
Meeting these figures does not guarantee smooth gameplay. Roblox recommends a relatively recent computer and notes that older AMD processors have experienced issues. If Roblox updates successfully but performance is poor, investigate graphics settings, system load, network conditions, and device drivers separately instead of repeatedly reinstalling the game.

Should you use a driver updater?
Not for a normal Roblox update. Roblox does not require a third-party driver-updater utility to update its application. If you have a separate, documented graphics, audio, network, or peripheral-driver problem, you can investigate Windows 11 driver troubleshooting, preferably beginning with Windows Update and the hardware manufacturer’s support resources.
Optional third-party note: Outbyte Driver Updater says it scans Windows systems for missing or outdated drivers and supports Windows 11. - Use Microsoft Store for the current Windows app, preferably the listing named Roblox – Windows.
- Use the official Roblox website for the browser-launched Player.
- Do not install “Roblox updater” executables from download mirrors, pop-ups, file-sharing pages, or unofficial mod sites.
- Do not provide your Roblox password or account cookie to a tool claiming it can update the game.
- Keep Windows and your supported browser updated when troubleshooting installation or launch failures.
